30k a week would go a lot further in Manchester than London, too. Could probably buy a house and everything. He'll be lucky to be in digs if he comes here.

Fingers crossed, this gets resolved early next week.

On 1.5M per year and a 5 year contract, I'm pretty sure he could buy a house just about anywhere he wants.

What people say and what they do are often miles apart. We'll see. I hope you're right though :)

Especially 17 year olds.... They are generally pretty unreliable and most of them quite idiotic. That said if this is about money even the dafted of 17 years would think that the money o offer at City would be more than that which is on offer with us both now abd long term.

I wonder if city are trying to recoup the extra 5m levy squeezed out of them for walker beyond what they wanted to pay. Would make sense. Or they could hope if he has to wait 12 months with them it gives them time to try and change his mind, help him settle etc

Possible City want to force him to stay to change his mind, but from what we've all read, I'm not sure he has any intention of going back. Turning down £30k a week, we know full well Spurs will not be offering that kind of wage, so it clearly is not just about the money. Interesting.

If he does well at spurs though he will get a pay rise each year so might not be too long before he gets to that level if he gets first team minutes this season

If that was the case then why didn't they just agree to have him included as part of the Walker deal instead?

I expect City would rather see his career go down the shitter rather than let him come to us.

From what I understand, ultimately there's not much they can do about it, if he doesn't want to stay there.

It's pretty petty of them to force a 17 yr old child to see out the final year of his scholarship if he really doesn't want to be there, regardless of whether he comes to us or not.

It makes up for the relocation some families have to go through. I believe it's covered up 'til 18, regardless of whether they player is retained that long or not - not sure how that goes for the siblings, if they're covered as well, but I imagine it's the case.

City pick up another highly talented winger. A replacement for Sancho? Or more likely just a case of hoovering up more talent which will never see the light of day at City.

Manchester City pip Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to Ghanaian wing prodigy Aminu Mohammed

Pep Guardiola set to send new signing out on loan after paying £2million into Mohammed's home WAFA Academy

MANCHESTER CITY have pipped Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to Ghanaian wing prodigy Aminu Mohammed.

The Under-17 international impressed during a two-week trial at the Etihad club. Now City have paid his home country’s WAFA Academy £2million for him.

Mohammed, 16, caught the eye of City scouts while playing in a youth tournament in Qatar for Red Bull Salzburg.

His two goals helped them to a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

The Austrians are a partner club to the WAFA Academy.

Spanish and German champions Real and Bayern also cast admiring glances at the winger, who has been likened to a young Neymar due to his goalscoring prowess and skill on the ball.

But City chief Pep Guardiola has won the race for the teenager, who is now set to be loaned out to a European club to gain first-team experience.
