I lay a bet with anyone that he will not be in Germany 12 months time(y)
It will be interesting to see what happens. Dortmund looks like a good place to be if you are an emerging talent in Europe. Just looking at some of the players coming through right now. I could see him liking the situation, and staying for a few seasons before a mega-transfer to a bigger side.

I like this, but why would they give him Dembeles shirt number if they are planning to move him on next summer? That's quite a public statement. I really hope your right, but why would BVB do us this favour? Not really expecting you to answer, this is more a fan to fan hypethetical.

Let's just assume there is contact between Levy, Jadon's agents and Dortmund over the last few weeks. Levy and Jadon's people effectively propose the following: Dortmund get a young star who shone at a recent international tournament to fill an unexpected void in their team. Also good for their brand/ fan base to continue to see such players come in. At the end of the year even after paying Citeh a bit more wedge, Dortmund turn a small profit on having Jadon's service for the year.

Or put simply:

"Hi Mr. Watze, Daniel Levy here. Would you like Jadon Sancho for a year. No, it actually won't cost you anything. You'll effectively get 2-3 million pounds after all the fees and his wages are taken care of. Yeah, thought you'd like that. He can even use the vacant number 7 shirt while you think about a long term replacement. Here is my advisor @Hercules to iron out the details"

But it's been widely reported that Dortmund had to pay between £8-10 million for Sancho, and there may be undisclosed sell on clauses.

suspect that is the same source from the Citeh end....why would Dortmund pay that much for a player they could sign to a pre-con in Jan?

I have no doubt the £8-10 million figure has been put out there by Shitty.

But unless there is info from the Dortmund end contradicting the Shitty claim, then we have no meaningful grounds to dismiss the £8-10 million fee.

If any SCers have access to the German press and find any relevant info about Dortmund's take on the Sancho deal, it would be grand if they could post it in this thread.

I love your confidence but I'm not sure. Dortmund have shown so much confidence in him by paying a big transfer fee and giving him the number 7 shirt, surely they must think he's committed long term?

Quick question: Dortmund paid that money for how many years of service from Sancho? Just the next 12 months?

Well, we would obviously pay them a substantial amount of money. So, they could make a profit on him very quickly. The problem is if Sancho does great, we might not be able to afford him.
