Micky Quinn was raving about this kid on Talksport yesterday afternoon, said hes the type who drops a shoulder and just glides past players.

Speculate to accumulate. If he's good enough he will displace someone else in the team. It's business innit?

He looks like a tidy little player, but we have Marcus Edwards up & coming, who plays in similar attacking position. I'd rather see Marcus Edwards given a chance than spend 5 million on another prospect.

I don't usually like to slag off but here goes. Micky Quinn is a twat. He is only interested in how things affect the scousers and all his opinions are based on stuff he's read in the papers. It's pundits like him that make me realise I know more than most of them. Still tipping the scousers to finish top 4. Can't stand him.
Hopefully he's read the right reports in relation to Maddison though ;)

Whilst I tend to agree on the scouse part, he is still a bit of a legend in Coventry having played for them so I was interested in what he had to say regarding Maddison as Im sure he still takes and interest watches his previous clubs.

I would love a Chrissy Waddle type player again at Spurs. Just drops their shoulder and they are gone. Probably one of my favourite ever players to watch.

Awesome and very underrated player. He was in his prime just as I started to go to WHL more regularly as an 11year old. I was also at a Spurs Legends game at WHL about 8-10 years ago (can't remember what it was for). He was fat and couldn't run more than 20 yards, but he was pinging 40 yard passes all over the pitch with pin point accuracy and killing the ball stone dead with his first touch. Lost none of his skill.

Hadn't thought of the Coventry part - good point. He's still a dick though. Not too far from Cavehill myself.

You never have a full squad. No matter how many players you have in that position if a player with right profile becomes available you try to get him on board. You never know with youngsters who will make it who wont.

He looks very good, but for CM, we have Mason, Bentaleb, Carroll, Alli, Dier & Winks all 24 or under for the CM spot and we have Pritchard, Onomah, Edwards and Shashoua all 22 or under and all look like they could have bright futures in the AM spot. That is just going down to U18 level and then we have players younger that are believed to have even higher potential.

Whilst people may say the more the merrier, it's not true as the less player to coach ratio, the higher the quality in training time and the higher the number of players to available game time ratio, the less time available for players to develop.

It's not just Edwards though, see my post above.

Whilst I'm of the opinion that we should not block our prospects coming through I don't see the harm of adding quality players in our academy because cream essentially rises to the top and the best players will often stand out. It's better than buying the likes of Paulinho and Capoue who were blocking our youngsters coming through to the first team, at least they have something to fight for.

Seen a few highlight reels of him, looks a real prospect.

Not sure the same fee as alli despite a lesser impact to date is good value though

If the fee was around 3m id say yes defo but for 5m, may be better off developing and playing the youngsters weve already got unless we believe hes about ready for the first team.

If only that were true, the less player to coach ratio, the higher the quality in training time and the higher the number of players to available game time ratio, the less time available for players to develop.

Was he playing when Grant Ward had his loan spell there last year? I don't remember him particularly standing out as better than Ward if so.
