OK there we go: confirmed for Norwich subject to approval.

Guess we'll just have to rout them tonight as recompense.

FUCKS SAKE LEVY COULDN'T EVEN SIGN ENGLISH BLOOD WHEN WE ARE BEST YOUNG ENGLISH TEAM EVER.

On a serious note, gonna be bit awkward when Norwich get relegated and could be in the same division as Coventry, when a reason cited for this sale was that they didn't want to stop him going to a PL club.

Apparently Sky just said we had a £7m bid rejected...?!?!??!??!?!

Only way that makes sense is if we didn't want to loan him back. Even at that big of discrepancy, it still doesn't make sense. 7m for a club like Coventry has to be a huge deal. And, I can't even see us saying we wouldn't loan him back.

I just saw it on a Coventry Forum, but some are saying that £7m is what they wanted from us, not that we bid it. Also, it's currently only the BBC reporting the £2m fee. If it was £2m then I am confused as to why we didn't go for it.

Edit- Now someone is saying SSN said the bid was from Liverpool- think they're just making it up now. I didn't see it but I guess SSN said they wanted £7m from us or Liverpool.

Or we wanted to pay it over 5 years ;).

In all seriousness though, it doesn't make much sense.

We have Alli, Bentaleb, Winks and Onomah in the CM mix, all 21 or under, and very highly rated. Marcus Edwards, rated by many as one of the most talented AM in Europe, also on the books. Pritchard (22), Carroll (23) and Mason (24) hardly over the hill either.
Yeah, Maddison looked tidy, but given the depth we already have, I can live with missing out.

I'm gutted we didn't get him, I think he'll be brilliant.

We'll probably end up trying to get him for £15m-£20m in two years time.

Good outcome in my mind, Norwich should be a step up for him development wise as he'll likely get Championship game time and if we still want him it's not like Norwich can hold us off, especially on a shorter contract like that.

Much better than him going to Liverpool and conceivably even us as we're quite stocked in that position.
