See someone (V_s_l_p) does not comprehend my synopsis :geek:
I stand to be corrected obviously, but 25 plus a sell on Vs 18 with add on's - unless the add on's take it level or beyond the 25 I am not sure how I'm not following.

If I have misrepresented and misinterpreted your synopsis then obviously I'm happy to apologise for my lack of understanding.

I was saying yesterday. £20 million on this guy or sessegnon? It's sessegnon. If we were to go for one then this window it's him and not Maddison. No way would we go for both either.

Terrible. We've stopped trying even for these

So what are we going to do then... stop competing altogether? Not an option methinks

We can't control the environment - it controls us. More transfer funds HAVE to be made available, stadium or no. It's the only way...
Totally agree with this.

The question is why did we not sign him from Coventry when we were first looking at the player? He was under £5 million and a limited risk. It happens quite often I think that we failed to act early enough on young players in the academy system.

From what I can gather we wanted him but he thought he'd get more 1st team football at Norwich -he was probably proved right.

Which of Sessegnon's legs are we buying for that?

He went to play in Scotland on loan, but anyway I don’t think we should be losing signings to a championship club due to game time.

It isn't necessarily that we might look at a player for a certain price but if the price is higher we don't buy because we won't pay that much, it might actually be that when the price goes up it takes it into another bracket within which there are better options.
Herc says not going to happen, Maybe because they want too much, maybe because he wants somewhere else or just maybe we were never desperately interested in the first place, I doubt very much though, that it's because we can't afford £25million.

Let them do the dog work. When they agree a few we will just match it
I suppose it depends on the total package. Would not be unlike West Ham to overpay, offer an insane sell on fee, and allow them to peg the dildo brothers weekly just to get him so they can say they did.

It does make one wonder if we actually have a transfer policy when it comes to young talent. We were apparently very interested prior to him going to Norwich for peanuts. Now we’re interested again but Norwich reportedly want £25m. If he goes to the Spammers for less than £20m then I’ll be a tad confused as it will be a very reasonable fee in today’s market for a talented youngster. I don’t get why we’d baulk at £20-25m but are still pursuing Sessegnon when Fulham want more than double the fee we’re grimising at for Maddison. Sessegnon is an exceptional talent but not at the figures being banded about.

Maybe our alternatives are more gettable or preferred?

Pritchard £11m and Maddison £12m? Which one has the higher ceiling (or should I say lower?)
