I was wondering whether this was the Barkley alternative that had been mentioned in ITK.

He has that close control and drop of the shoulder that hazard has. Looks like he will need some bulk on his legs to ride the challenges in this league if he makes the step up. Don't think we will see him this season as will need some gym work before.

The Championship is brutal and he seems to be holding his own.

From the youtube video (I know), he plays in a very spurs way. Quick decision making, willing to pass forward and through ball, good off-ball movement (especially after passing the ball). Definitely fit our quick-transition attacking style. Plus, his free kicks and corner kicks are really good. Eriksen is brilliant, but it is annoying to see he fails to beat the first man when it comes to dead balls

He seems to be a mix of Dele and Eriksen, which isn't a bad thing at all..

Barkley wasn't/isn't some sort of superstar, reason majority of people wanted him was because there was this idea Poch would turn him into something. Maddison looks like he was real natural ability, turn of pace, decent shot, crossing ability, close control and nice ability to turn quickly on the ball. Those are some serious attributes for Poch to work with. If Poch had the ability to turn Barkley into a star then he can with Maddison too.

Little bit of Modric too. He seems to turn away from pressure well and has the good vision and deft little touch pass that Modric was so good at. Does he have enough of any of them to compete in the top flight though....that's really the question.

Needs to bulk up a bit, but he's got very good close control and a great passing range.

Primarily plays AM (no.10) with a couple of appearances at CM under his belt (but nothing to warrant signing him for that position).

Not sure whether he'd be a better attacking signing than A.N.Other., but I'd be interested to see how it pans out - if he comes and develops under Poch, we've got someone with close control who can beat a man a spray passes around in the opposition half.

In short, I'm for it.

Thats what people said about Luka!

That boy has got talent and dedication.
Just thinking of the parents' dedication too - washing his kit/taking him to practice and games and cheering him on from the sidelines all those years. Makes you think about what it takes for a whole family to turn your kid into a professional footballer...

Why has he had so little time for the england youth teams? Is it because he was at coventry?

Is he better than edwards?

I always thought it a little strange he went to Norwich. It seemed so likely we'd get him and then he went there on transfer deadline day.

Seems we still like him. I think we could have got him for £5 million then so I wonder what the price is now.
