There doesn’t seem to be a downside to this guy as, at worst he’d be severely upgrading a bench whose only attacking midfielder of genuine quality is the oft injured Lamela. At best we’ve got another Dele find and can finally start giving both Dele and Eriksen much needed rotation to preserve their fitness.

Totally agree!

Sounds like a prospect. Will be interesting to see if we can convince him that we are the place to be, much like we need to with the Sessegnons

Would love to get this kid as he sounds great. Let's hope Poch chats to him face to face and convinces him we are the best place for him.

We could certainly do with somebody who's not afraid to have a go from outside the box. Maddison looks very capable in that department and at set pieces too. Hope we can tie this one up along with the Sessegnons.

James Maddison. Its arrangement of consonant and vowels evoke the spirit of the18th century founding fathers of America. There's an unbridled optimism, a sense of unbounded energy and imagination necessary to the crafting of a modern nation resonating within the phonetic sounds of his name. For this reason, and this reason alone, I say yes sir.

I was disappointed when we missed out on this one a few years back. Real big fan of him and would be delighted if we signed him. Has a very bright future.

Been looking at a video summary of his 2017/18 so far. Kinda reminds me of Rafael van Der Vaart, which I'm a huge fan of

It shows you that David Pleat can spot a good young player and we should have acted on it at the time.

He's a mate of a mate and he says he's a good lad.

Watching some of the clips of him he looks brilliant.

Could be awesome in central midfield, help dictate play.

I'm going to sound unpopular on here but he's an upgrade to Winks.

Such a clean passer and the sort of player who loans the ball out to his team mates, similar to what Scholes and Gazza use to do.
That's a lovely turn of phrase - well played.

If Pritchard cost 12m we will have to go to 20 for him. Class player. Don’t see many like him these days . Plus he can score free kicks. It’s 2 years past Oct since Eriksen scored one for us.!!!

Looks a cracking player can see why so many clubs are looking at him good finisher and a proper football brain think the carrot crunchers will be spitting straw to lose him and Pritchard from there midfield this January.

Maybe poch sees him as a long term better option than Barkley

I'm somewhat disconcerted with the superfluous "d" in is his surname but I can let that slide.

Love the look of this kid. I think the comparison to Rafa was pretty spot on, which stirs things in my pants.

Sorry to be lazy, but would someone mind relating/summarizing if there is anything more to this than just a Mirror tab?

Hercules said there may be smoke in this one (assume no smoke without fire). He also mentioned something like we loan you one of ours if you give us one of yours. (I'm assuming Edwards and Maddison being the players he mentions). He hasn't said anything is certain, just that there is truth in it and lots of clubs are talking to him. Pinch of salt and all the usual stuff
