Liverpool are plotting a summer swoop for James Maddison from Norwich at the end of the season.

Just seen this is in one of tomorrow's papers- reminds me of Dele Alli and I hope the same result!

Crazy to go there - he'd have Mané, Lallana and co ahead of him.

Best to come to us and be rotated with Eriksen.

You mean he sounds like a traitorous git? :p
No. Rather of a free man asserting the rights and liberties of an Englishman as guaranteed to him by Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest but to whom such rights and liberties were denied by the arbitrary and capricious Acts of Parliament . ;-)

Magna Carter was an agreement between the crown and the barons. Did not cover ordinary people.

But back to maddison. Any news from the norwich boards and how much is it estimated he'd cost?

All sorts of political shit going down in the James Maddison thread. For what it's worth, I'd be up for recognising sentinel rights for jacket potatoes

It didn’t at the time.....but by the 18th century it was viewed as a foundational document in British constitutional history and its principles applicable to all free English subjects (which while limited would have applied to the earlier James Madison).

But can it take set pieces?

20m for a totally unproven championship player.

Don’t get me wrong, he looks great, but..

The market is officially mental

The market is mental. 20 years old though so we would get some back if he didn't break through.

As i said it's guess work on norwich fans part. We'll have to see.

The rumours up north today are that Norwich are looking at buying Kenny Mclean from Aberdeen. I'd assume Mclean would be bought in to replace James Maddison. Similar type of players, albeit one being a million times better than the other.

Even though Edwards was clearly a replacement for Pritchard, the suggestion was that many clubs across europe wanted Marcus on loan and it may be that we allowed Norwich to take him as a potential sweetener in a deal to get Maddison here. If the player agrees then we would clearly loan him back for rest of the season which gives Norwich time to find a long term replacement whilst not affecting their current season.

Let's just hope James is smart enough to pick us over any other Prem club. Not like we don't have multiple of examples of why he should be pick us.

I can understand young players choosing other clubs over us. More money, greater chance of winning trophies.

However, if their only criteria is where a young English player has a greater chance of improving and possibly representing his country it’s a no brainer to join us.

The latter is most certainly my point. Maddison appears to value playing time and improvement so there simply isn't a better club than us out of the top 6. It's a no-brainer.
