This is a good signing for the Foxes. The kid has something about him. It remains to be seen if he can replicate that form and continue to improve in th PL. But he’s at the right team to do it, as I think he would get a lot more opportunities with them, than us. One way or the other, we will know in a couple of seasons if he’s the real deal. I have a sneaky suspicion he’s going to be a very good player.

They obviously signed Maguire last summer for a snip too. And Gray who’s also decent for a small fee. The kind of business we used to do - last time we signed up good British talent was Dele and that was 2.5 years ago.

Bleh, looks like a player pretty far from the standard we need at the moment. No end product at all.

tough judgement!

Playing his first game in the Premiership. Away. To a very defensive Manchester Utd.

He’s clearly a talented lad but will obviously need some time to step up to this level.

We wouldn’t have bought him to start from game 1.

I predict he'll get at least 10 goals this season

Most important task is to buy their scouts.:)

I still maintain him and Grealish are entirely different players and positions and Grealish has the attributes we need far more, Maddison will do well for Leicester though.

I think that is probably true. Maddison played almost as the most forward player at times. We would have used Grealish in a CM role.

I think we could have used Maddison in a 4231 formation as a deputy for Eriksen - but if Eriksen is going to play deeper, we needed another player who could also play deeper.

Having said that, I think Maddison went for £20M, so £25M for Grealish should have been enough...

Yeah he wasn't offering much in the dribble from deep department which is Grealish strongest attribute, I only mentioned it before we go down a should have picked Maddison up for 20 mill discussion in a few games time, he would have been a pure backup where as Grealish arguably would have been competing for a main 11 spot in the 433 as you mentioned.

We had info years ago that Maddison wanted to go where he was going to play, not develop. He may not even be that interested in coming unless he was going to be a regular starter. It's clearly no fault of our scouts that we haven't signed him considering we're well aware of who he is. We don't need to slaughter the club for every player we don't sign.

So my cousin is from Norfolk and a big Canaries fan

Apparently a lot of the season ticket holders there think Maddison is the best player they've had in the last 30 or so years

Just to cheer us up... (y)
