I actually think theres a very good chance Jan stays with us for pretty much the rest of his career. Doesn't seem to be itching for a move and I think he's very comfortable here with all his belgian mates around him as well.

Not sure where he'd go anyway. Won't be City/Arsenal/Chelsea and I don't think United/Barca/Madrid would be seriously interested in him.

Do you guys think Jan might sign another contract now that Toby is here?

I think both Lloris and Jan could decide to remain if Spurs do really well this season - meaning qualifying for the CL either through the Euro Leauge or the EPL. If not, then if "good" offers come in from CL clubs I won't be surprised to see both, or at least 1 of them, leave. Most likely both, unfortunately.
Toby coming in seem to have breath need life, inspiration, into Jan though.

Right. Hugo will have plenty of offers and maybe Jan might not be quite the top shelf signing citeh or Barca would be after there will be clubs like Juve, Lazio or Napoli etc who would likely be sniffing around. It's not Real Madrid or Tranmere Rovers.

Hopefully he does decide to stick around in that case though. Juve aside etc, they would be near enough sideways moves but if they offer him a ton of cash then who knows. either way, my body is ready.

After the start to the season we've had if all 3 stay fit I don't see any reason why we wouldn't have a chance.

Our defence was our let down last season. Already we are on target for a much better defensive season time around.

We are defending as a proper unit now, Poch deserves great credit for getting it sorted out in the Summer.

We have every chance of getting into the CL with our spine now.

Lloris

Toby Jan

Dier

Lamela/Eriksen

Kane

And I think due to the solidty, that spine, and team would do very very well in the CL.

You know, when you actually type it out like that to see, that spine is very good and Dier is only just starting out and hopefully Dele keeps pushing on. In even just a season or two we could have a very legitimate chance of causing lasting damage over a season. As for top 4 this season, I'm not even thinking of that If it happens then ermahgerd but meh. No jinxs from me. :nailbiting:

You missed out Ali from that. He's first choice for me now.

Our defensive improvement has everything to do with Dier imo. Having a defensive mid, even if he isn't, that can shield the defense took a lot of pressure from our CB. Last season we depended on Bentaleb.

He's playing really well this season. I do think people have short memories tho. He wants champions league, is good enough to get it, has a history of being stroppy and we may well not be able to give it to him. Simple equation over a long enough timeline really
