I hope his career takes off after his nightmare time at Spurs

It's all coming together, sess twins & lo celso in then 1 or 2 shifted out. Anything else on top would be a bonus & would give us serious strength in depth & quality throughout to have another crack at the title.

Feel really bad for him to be honest. Thought he was a decent player but for some reason never got game time from the very beginning. Even when we were struggling for forward players. Something fundamental was clearly not working out behind the scenes.

I wish him well.

I really wonder why Mexico and Turkey though. Surely it would have been better for his career to head back to Holland or perhaps even Germany, Italy or Spain. I hope it works out for him. He was a Dutch international for goodness sake!

If he'd hit the ground running with us, who knows what might have happened. Facts are, his great season with AZ was more like half a season when you look at when those goals were scored (most after the winter break) and the big move and step up to a better club plus a drop in confidence after starting without a goal was too much to overcome. Probably other things in the mix, too.

At one point he was marking himself out of the game. Instead of making runs to where the ball should be going, he was moving into areas where he was unavailable. Not good signs. Especially at a time when Kane was excelling.

However, when he came back at the end of the season he looked a different guy. As if he'd found that confidence again. Hope it works out in Mexico and I will keep an eye out for the scores just to see how he does. Could be another Gignac (a good thing) or end up back in Holland this time next year.

I'd assume nobody in Europe was interested. Wish him all the best though. Always seemed like he was trying his best.

I completely get it that we feel bad for him, cos ultimately he seemed a nice guy - but the reason he didn't make it with us has to do with him!
The 'nightmare' spell he's had with us is down to him just not being good enough or adapting or progressing quick enough.
I don't for one moment think Poch or any of the coaching staff would've shut him out or made his life difficult - or not given him the opportunity to shine if they thought he could handle it.

......unfortunately, he couldn't!

All the best Vinny!

Clearly not good enough. Whats worse nobody else was willing to take a chance not Newcastle Aston Villa or Palace not even Wet Spam. Lesson learnt hopefully from our club in future we must go for our first chioce and in the case of a Harry Kane replacement we should be looking at another wing forward in the mold of Son and Moura to step in for Kane and rotate with others.

£5.6M seems cheap for him though.
Really? Based on what he did in Holland maybe but it didn't work out for him with us. I always liked him, I hope he does well there but we're lucky to get that fee based on the last couple of years
