What impressed me most was his reaction to the slip, he didnt dive in, he remained composed and throughout the 2 games there's been great 1on1 defending. I dont know much about him or how highly thought of he is at youth level but I liked what I saw and hope he gets either more opportunities in cup games or possibly a loan with a view to getting more experience to return and stake a claim to be apart of the 1st team squad.

His body language reminds me a lot of Ledley. Always looking at the situation and playing it simple. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of him this season. Love seeing players come through the academy.

Can't find much about him online. Is he a big lad? How tall and strong.
Some say he's as tall as a barn, with a heart the size of Wyoming, while others say he's as small as the first acorn that lands this side of summer.

Personally I'd guess he's around 6'3" but you'll have to measure him yourself to be sure.

From acorn to oak big enough to build a barn is about 150 years so he’s clearly a long-term prospect.

Imagine learning from Toby and Jan. Lucky boy

A well known Spurs youth follower mentioned before the match that Tanganga was like Michael Dawson. Having watched him in the two pre seasons i'd say he was absolutely nothing like Michael Dawson !

I think the comparison was due to his wholehearted 'body on the line' defending. So it was a major major plus to see him constantly take up good positions (negating the need to throw himself into tackles) and then see him use the ball better than i remember Dawson ever doing (except for Dawsons favoured long diagonal of course).

Can't get too carried away yet but it's players like him (and the ages of Foyth and Sanchez) that really make me glad that we don't seem interested in buying an expensive replacement for Toby. Far rather Tanganga got enough chances to prove his worth (or not).

Like a lot of other people in the Youth thread I Have Been watching Tanganga most weeks for years now and last season he was not our best CB and he is in need of a loan this season.

He is a player I like a lot and he was playing so well at u18s but playing in a bad u23 team over the last few seasons has done him no good like many others before him.

The thing that people do not talk about with Tanganga is his aggression and this is a good thing because he likes to compete even if he sometimes oversteps the mark,He is a player I would like to see do well but he must have a loan first and get him away from u23 football.

One thing I have noticed over the years is Tanganga,Eyoma and Dinzeyi do not play well together and they have played shit load of games together and none of them had a good year just gone.

This is old footage of Tanganga that was posted in the Youth thread a long time ago.

From the YouTube clips he seems to be calm under pressure, has a decent tackle in him, a decent range of passing and good in the air.

The problem with YouTube clips is there is no way to gauge consistency. If he can do all of the above week in week out the he has great potential, I wonder if Ledley has given him some coaching.

With other young CB’s like Foyth, Carter-Vickers, Eyoma, Lyons-Foster and Binks also very highly rated, it’s almost worth taking a hit on Toby staying for one more year and leaving on a free of it means these guys get another season seeing/working with Toby and Jan, to hopefully allow them to step into the gap Toby leaves. Initially having Sanchez step straight up to be Jan’s partner, and then having internal promotion full the gap he leaves as first backup, effectively negates the cost of losing Toby when you don’t have to shell out for a replacement.
That’d be my line of thinking, especially factoring in we could be fielding Walker-Peters and maybe Sessegnon at fullback, having the experience of Toby and Jan in the middle is key.
