I think it's pretty obvious we are trying to hold out for a top quality cm, I think a good chunk of our fan-base was a little disappointed when we were lining up Grealish but all ITK and media points to us holding out for some real quality in that area. So why should we not add a player who looks like he has potential and is English meaning he will likely command a good fee should he not make it at spurs (looking at the likes of Solanke, Ibe)

You know the rule. No sensible posts allowed on here especially on a match day!

How many seasons are we going to wait till we find this perfect midfielder. Here's the thing, there were several midfielders available this past summer, but we didn't get any because a) we didn't have non-homegrown spots available, b) because baldy wouldn't take a hit on moving out some of the fringe players and c) he just can't pull his wallet out.

Such poor excuses about how we wouldn't pay agent fees and so forth. That's the market these days, everyone else is doing it. We're not anymore special than the rest.

I agree with everything you said but I dont see why that means we dont go for Bowen.

I'm not against getting Bowen. I hope we do. He's got that Dele air about him. It's just that our current priority should be a top class midfielder who can hit the ground running and provide much needed relief to our ailing midfield.

Jarrod's one for the future, there's no telling how quickly he can get up to speed.

But why do we need him? I would have maybe understood if it was last summer knowing Son was going to be away for a lot of the season, but next season he won't be. Seeing as we do seem to be working on a minimal budget why should we spend what little money we have on a player who probably won't get much game time and don't really need. If we hadn't bought Moura then I would be all for this, but as it is we don't really need him and we don't have a large enough budget to buy players that are not absolutely essential.

With Son off and Kane likely injured he’d probably start the next few games. Even though we need a CM more we probably could do with another attacking player now too. We won’t sign him though as we won’t sign another player ever again.

Jesus! Has it really come to this ! Kane and son out for a month and we pin our hopes on a very one footed winger from hull shoot me now ?

Skills and goals....looks a good player, left footed right winger, speedy and skilful. Bit like Son but on the opposite flank.

I'm seriously tempted to learn how to edit highlight videos just to put some decent music in rather than this endless euro-trance wank.

It’s important to sign the right players when you can though, regardless of their position. When good opportunities arise we should take them, even if it’s not the main priority needed.

He looks like a really good player. If he’s realistic for us in a monetary sense - I’d be all for it.

I’m a Spurs fan but a season ticket holder at Hull city (long story but live there and my son loves going every week). Seen a lot of Bowen and he’s a good player but not Spurs level. He might suit a Burnley or Palace but I can’t see him in our 1st team. Hull will miss him massively but i’m disappointed if this is the level of player on our radar.

Just to add, although it means nothing these days, Hull’s owner released a statement to season ticket holders last week to say that following recent good form they are not selling any of the star players.

Over the last few seasons only 2 players at Hull made the impression on me that I would love Spurs to sign them and that’s Harry Maguire and Andy Robertson. I’ve never sat there thinking I hope we sign Bowen.
