I'm sorry, am I going mental or something. Our fans don't want the same Hernandez that when played has been clinical in front of goal and absolutely works his ass off for his team....and for free no less!?

Are we all that short sighted that we can't remember his first season at Utd when he was banging in goals for fun. 20 goals that season. He was roughly a 1 in 2 player for Man Utd and he didn't start too often from what I recall. His last full season didn't go as well but there is clear ability there.

Has anyone seen his goal on his debut for Real Madrid? It was a fuckin worldy!

This kid has a huge amount to his game that we could benefit from. Really shocked by the lack of interest. I think he'd be a great signing and could compliment Kane really well.

he'd certainly be 3rd choice for us, at yet a different club, so what is the point? He won't be happy here.

These type of things always make me laugh. He'll be part of the squad surely? He will cement his place in the team or squad based upon his performances. If he comes in and bangs in 6 in 3 games then I bet he won't be 3rd choice. What was Harry at the beginning of the season?

Sure he would be part of the squad. Maybe he comes in 2nd string behind Kane and gets a chance? But are you going to pay his wages on a maybe??

We can play what if all day long. So did Man U. So did Real. No revelation so far. Look elsewhere with our wages.

And how much would he start here at Spurs? I'm sorry, I think I can see the talent the same as Fergie and Madrid saw it, but if he's not on the pitch, he's not happy. He is a good enough player to be first choice somewhere and be happy.

Fair enough but I guess we don't know how much he'd start for us. I personally think it would be more than he did for Utd or Madrid.

As I say, totally hear what you're saying, I just think we could do a LOT worse than Hernandez, especially on a free, which is important now that we have the stadium to focus on. Don't know if we'll have a big transfer kitty to work with.

100% agree with this. I would like it if we could get him on decent wages and clear room for him by off-loading Adebayor and/or Soldado (whom I actually don't want to part with, but would begrudgingly have to for a decent price).

I've seen what Soldado can do for Spurs, although tbh I don't actually know what we're paying for him - the guy try's hard but no matter how you try and paint it, has been frankly pants for Spurs. I don't know what Hernandez could do - I don't have a crystal ball like some others. If the management feel he is the right type of player for the right type of wages though then it's their choice. I've never been a great fan of his although I do see that he scored 37 or so goals for United in 100 bit part games which was ok. Not my choice though.

What I was asking though is why you automatically feel he will be 3rd choice striker at Spurs? And do you really feel that's what we'll 'sell him' on?

Opinions pah, who needs em eh?

Without wanting to be too harsh on the lad I think he's absolutely fucking rubbish.

Soldado without the neat interplay and touch.

Dude, come on, I have no issue with someone disliking a player but your comment is ridiculous when you consider that that the player you think is better has scored 15 goals in 67 games in England, and the other has scored 59 in 154 games (all comps).

I like Soldado, he does have neat interplay and a nice touch and i think he was awesome in Spain, but in this league, right now, Hernandez is the better player. We need a goal scorer to backup/play with Kane and sadly Soldado isn't it.

He really shouldn't be on our radar. Man U are happy to get rid, RM want rid, what is the attraction ? He is a decent enough player who has never kicked on from his early success when at Man U.

3rd choice?

Behind who?

Kane would likely start as the first choice but he could rotate with Kane and or play with him if our system was tweeted and they formed a good partnership for example

I am surprised you say third choice because currently we only have one viable striking option - who else could possibly be in front of him? Ade or Soldado? do you mean one of the youth team players or are you expecting us to bring in another striker even if we were to sign him?

Ade doesn't even play and Soldado is dog shit for us - if Hernandez were signed right now he would at the very least be the first in line to compete with Kane surely?!

I don't see it happening to be fair - so this conversation is probably futile anyway

Bringing in Chicharito on a free and Ings on a tribunal fee while shipping out Ade and Soldado and turning a profit on it all would be cracking business IMO. We've got our No. 9 so I have no problem with targeting squad players for the position.

I think he means that he wouldn't be happy with chicharito as 2nd choice. Neither would I really.

If we were to bring in another forward and chicharito I'd be over the moon. But I would not be happy starting the season with kane, chicharito and Soldado/ade. I just don't think that is good enough for a team aspiring to be in the top 4.

I think Chicharito is worse than Soldado, but I think both are not good for our team.

that's hardly prolific though when his main attribute is goal poacher, in fact the two differences are hardly different between them

Think its his inability to play up front on his own and lack of hold-up play that puts most of, there's never been any doubt over his finishing.
