I know you're meant to post an article/ITK when starting the thread but there's been so many articles and so much ITK that I don't think it's necessary. It's blatantly obvious that we want him so here's the thread on him....

I've no idea if you meant Rodriguez is as injury prone as Dazza, or if you were randomly saying his name because there was no link to him like no link in the OP.
Either way, I did laugh.

"Hey lads, reckon Chelsea would let us have Oscar for 30 mil plus Dembele. What you guys think? Could happen!"

I think he's had to have an arthroscopy to clear out some of the scar tissue caused by the main ACL operation. It's not uncommon, but will set his recovery back 4-6 weeks (so from Jan to Feb).

Yeah, he'd probably return to training around mid-late Janurary. Meaning you cant really expect to see him in a match until mid february at the earliest. I'm thinking we go for a pre contract in January if we are optimistic about his return and form. Or play the wait and see game and sign him on a free in the summer. Probably wouldnt be the smartest idea to sign him on a perm in January considering he probably wont make any impact in a PL match until March.

I think i read the same thing somewhere, if this is true then i think we need to stay well clear of him until summer. Way to much of a risk and probably wont be able to make much of an impact until the end of the season if that. Not a season changing transfer. On a side note, i thought his contract runs out in 2016?

If Jay Rodriguez isn't coming at a reduced fee due to his contract running down, then there's no reason why we shouldn't at least try to go all out for Alexandre Lacazette. For me, that was one of the most attractive things about Jay Rodiguez and if that's no longer the case, we should really go for a player who could become one of the better forwards in Europe as long as he continues to develop. Lacazette may not be available or interested at this point, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't at least look into him as an alternative.

Rodriguez will come cheap. He'll cost £12-15m instead of £25m because of his contract situation

Unless he signs a new one. Not quite sure why he would be so disparate to jump ship and come to us at the moment. Yes he loves Poch, but if Soton use their supposed 20 mil Jan kitty to good effect they could have a good shot at top 5 were as we will do very well to get into Europe at all the way we have been lately.

He's been saying publically for a while that he won't be signing a new contract.

Is 12-15m cheap though hes been injured a long time?!

It's cheap for arguably the best young English forward around.
