As long as he's over his injury I'd take him in a heartbeat, can play up top or also wide attacking role.

The story is that WBA are looking to or have made a £10m bid and Southampton are willing to listen to offers after having brought in Gabbiadini from Napoli.

J-Rod is a player that can clearly still offer something, his goals vs Bouremouth and a few games back showed this. He's (edit: not that young), english and understands what is required of him in Poch's system.

He would also be relatively cheap compared with when we were last linked with him.

It's a no-brainer in my opinion.

EDIT: Didn't realise he was 27. Still think it's worth doing.

Two years ago, without the injuries, this made sense. Now, I think the moment's passed.

It makes more sense than ever. He seems to have come back from Injury more stronger. He is scoring at same rate before injury, only with arguably lesser players alongside now.

Buying him, would solve the striker issue. I am sure he can ably deputise for Kane. And also play alongside Kane if required, like he did with Lambert.

15m bid for him is cheap IMO in current market

I'd be okay with this.. more ready for the Prem than Jansen. Competition for Son.

Do it

I doubt this would be on because of the injuries. I would suspect if Poch was serious he would want exhaustive fitness checks beyond even the usual stringent medicals. No good having such a player in his system if they can't go 100% flat out

No doubt Poch likes him as a player but with the injuries he has yet to prove he is able to get back to the form before they occurred. I doubt we will go for him.

Pre injury he kept defenders on their toes... now he's very much like Sturridge, lost his primary attribute (pace) and is just another average striker whom may or may not flourish again. There's been games this season where it wasn't obvious he was playing as he was anonymous. He'd of been an excellent Defoe type replacement pre injury but not now.
