Linked with Jay Rodriguez in the Burnley Express:

Rivals join race for Jay Rod

image.jpg

"Earlier this summer, six top-flight clubs expressed an interest in the forward. Bournemouth, West Ham and Crystal Palace were believed to be among those eyeing Rodriguez, who prospered at Burnley under Cherries boss Eddie Howe in his only full season in charge at Turf Moor in 2011/12. And Spurs – now the only Premier League club not to make a summer signing – are also thought to be keen. Rodriguez played under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, between 2013 and 2014. West Brom are thought to be holding out for more in the region of £18m for Rodriguez"

Might be a case of just an easy rumour to make for a paper, but if it is true, I'd take him over Llorente...

It’s been a running joke over on coys for months that we would be linked with him this window and probably towards deadline day.

Depressingly amazing it’s happened. I thought it would be Demarai Gray again

On the plus side, all I need is for us to be linked to Morten Gamst Pedersen and Damien Duff and I'll have completed Tottenham Hotspur transfer window bingo.

He is homegrown, has played under Poch before and he is a better option to have off the bench than Llorente.

If our interest is genuine and he's not just an alternative signing to Martial or Zaha, then why not?

He really isn’t good enough. Never been the same since his injury.
