Let's be honest, he could replace all of those and free up non-HG slots.

Comes across as a Harry Redknapp style signing though, so it probably wouldn't happen. He's a bit too old (just turned 29) to expect a profit from, so I can only imagine £20m might be a bit rich for us

£20m and you get someone in that allows for you to move 3 nonHG players on. You don't probably get 3 years out of him and if you decide to move him on after next season etc could probably get about £10m back.

I don't think it's a bad move in all honesty. He'd more than likely be happy to play backup to Kane and can play on the LW as well so it gives us better options than we already have. I wouldn't be totally against this signing, it'll also free up £120k per week in wages so it'll be a further £6m freed up when it comes to genuine deadwood

Let me put a positive spin for Rodriguez....

Scored 11 goals in 17/18 , playing for a shite team.
Home grown which we desperately need.
Scored vs big teams last season -Everton,United,Arsenal,City,Liverpool(2).
Can play alongside Kane unlike Llorente.
Played under Poch
Played 3000 minutes+ So, no question of injury woes unlike last season. Its possible that we didn't want to take the chance on him previous season with him being out for a 1.5 years

Guys, the only source so far seems to be the Burnley Express. Relax:rolleyes:

Born & brought up in Burnley including being part of Burnley academy and then to senior squad.
Burnley express probably is the most trust worthy paper in land, when it comes to him....

I went to university with his brother when we were linked a few years ago with him. He told me that Jay rod said poch was the best coach and best person he had ever worked for. I believe Jay rod went on to give an interview last year stating the same. Apparently poch rang him regularly when he was out injured. I'd take a punt on him. Coys

I know it sounds terrible but I'd almost rather us sign no one than sign Jay and have him be our only signing.

I’m not saying J Rod would be a satisfying transfer window by any means but this makes no sense

Because it screams "we HAVE to sign someone or else we'll be a laughing stock" to me. That's all.
