Watched the game also . Unlucky not to score and was also pulled back when clear on goal. Paced player works hard takes up good forward positions . One down side his crossing maybe let him down on occasions . Similar in that way to Lennon or Townsend.

Agree on claise class midfielder and if we were to lose eriksen this guy is a ready made replacement

Clasie would be best in the deeper 2 imo, looks to be the type of player we're crying out for

I've no doubt Koeman would probably like Clasie at Saints, but it wouldn't make complete sense given how many quality midfield talents they have on the fringes there. Between Ward-Prowse, Reed, and Hesketh, it's just not a practical move and a bit contradictory to their way of doing things.

I'm not dismissing the lad (I know absolutely nothing about him) but I am urging caution. After-all, look at this attacking, goal-scoring powerhouse

I gave that a WTF rating because, WTF happened to the man. Sure the Dutch League is crap at defending, but he had end product. I remember when he went to Fulham and played up top and then some manager moved him deeper. That move killed his motivation to produce. God his runs actually provided something.

He was only ever scoring 1 in 5 in the Netherlands; whatever he may have had as a kid was gone before he went to Fulham.

He's never been a productive forward. Even while playing as a CAM at Fulham, he at most put like 3 goals and 3 assists each per season. His numbers didn't fall off much from there upon being moved further back. It wasn't a manager who did him.

Think it was Jol that moved him there. Yup seems back then his instinct was to drive forward with the ball, think he had a touch of the soldado's though and was really struggling for goals, think he had more licence at Fulham though more of an old fashioned 8 rather than a 2 of a 4231 shape. I've always wondered what he would be like up front for us, especially when Kane hadn't made it through and we were struggling up top,

Eredevisie players seem to adapt very well to the Premier League. Eriksen, Bony, Chadli, Pelle, Tadic, Vertonghen, Vorm... I guess the exception is Altidore. I wouldn't mind us trying to sign one or two of the best players from over there every window.
