(I know he’s technically not our player but he basically still is so that’s why I’ve put it in Spurs Chat so there)

100% deserved. Lovely couple of tweets from him on it too. His relationship with Bradley was beautiful to see. He's a credit to football and his country. Proud he wore our shirt.

... Once associated with Spurs, the class don't wear off.

Fully deserved.. and to think that he used to have a reputation as a bit of a bad boy.

He’s a proper Spurs man and carries himself with class...always loved JD and would like to see him at the club in an ambassadorial role.

Top man and very well deserved.

Yiddo...

I have always thought of my irrational love for Defoe as an oddity; now I know that it was simply a case of my instincts being spot-on. I fucking LOVE the guy (that penalty miss against Everton notwithstanding). I truly do hope he will come back to us as a coach/ambassador/whatever- hell, even as a player for a day so he could retire a proper Spur.

I'm only messing. I love the bloke. He was gooner as a kid i thought.

West Ham

Asked in an interview with Four Four Two if he supported Arsenal as a youngster, the Sunderland striker replied: 'Was I a Gooner as a kid?

'Absolutely not! My local team was West Ham and I used to go and watch them play when I was younger.

'The Arsenal connection came from me saying that I loved watching Ian Wright, but I was not an Arsenal fan. I just loved Wrighty.'
