West Ham fans need to read this part

"Playing Tottenham seems to rile up West Ham like nothing else - something that when I first went to Spurs I didn't really understand.

I still don't in some ways. Tottenham's number one derby will always be Arsenal. If any derby intensified in the years that I was at Spurs, it was the one against Chelsea. But the players never viewed West Ham as one of the big derbies, and that's probably one of the things that infuriates West Ham fans.

I even remember having conversations trying to work out what the West Ham thing was all about. Granted, they were close geographically, but so were Charlton, for example. I didn't get the hatred they were trying to create, which I didn't feel ever materialised from Tottenham's end. The biggest derbies remained Arsenal, followed by Chelsea, and I don't think it's any different now."

Haha, good job, JJ. They need it though, so nothing anyone says is gonna make any difference. In fact, once they move into their new stadium it will only intensify from their end.

We'll just continue to be bemused.

Reading the article , I find his comments re the lasagniagate events interesting . For me , it was the moment that our club bottled it. I can't believe other major clubs would have folded so completely on the eve of a massive match . In medical issues you can always fudge things so if the shit hit the fan later , after we refused to play , we could have always got a doctor to back us up .

Yes clubs like Rangers have been demoted a league or two for misdemeanours...but these were not for medical issues like this .Anyway , who could prove the players were well enough to play ? ...days later .

Simple answer to the Prem...'We don't have enough players to play the game ' 'Here is our doctors note' ...and here's our lawyer's address ,

Which branch of business expects vomiting workers to carry on work ? . There must be a health work regulation we could've used as defence if it got ugly . Bottled it , intimidated by threats I would speculate .

FUCK the FA schedules this was huge for our club .

A very strange set of circumstances as Jenas alludes to . 'Only time its ever happened' .

But whatever the dodgy cause of the illness, we shouldn't have so quickly bent over and taken it up the arse In My Opinion.

I fucking hate West Ham.

Sorry JJ, but there isn't a club on God's green earth I hate losing to more than Spam. We absolutely must send their stadium into London's bowels stained with the tears of having lost to Spurs in their last visit to that unholy ground.

That the players don't give a shit is fantastic though. Eric Dier had to be utterly bemused at the fans' reaction to his goal as he ran in front of them after he'd done the business. There is just no way he could've had any idea that they'd react like that, and that for me made that goal all the sweeter :ROFLMAO:

We would have been awarded a loss and got a fine for not showing. And that would have been the end of the matter.

It's not the early 90's anymore where clubs can be fined for fielding a weakened team. Clubs can't have it both ways. We have a squad for a reason. Whether that means having to play the reserves or not is irrelevant. It's not the FA's problem if the second or third choice players aren't of the same quality as the first teamers.

I've never really shared this before but that year was the worst year of my life. We were expecting our first child and with spurs riding high I can still remember singing "can't smile without you" to our bump. Like everyone else I was wrecked when we lost to West Ham, but then 2 months later football was insignificant when we lost our baby daughter and had a still birth. It's funny the only song that seemed fitting to have at Abigails funeral was "can't smile without you" It's incredible that she would have been ten this year. To this day though "lasagne gate" and losing my daughter seem entwined. We've moved on and now have 2 beautiful little girls but the words West Ham always remind me of that dark time..... Not really sure if I should've posted this, but it amazes me how football and life go hand in hand

There is another reason why the FA and/or the PL were so intransigent about our desire to postpone the match in 2006. It was the last day of the season and all final-day matches are required to kick off simultaneously, to prevent gamesmanship, teams colluding to play out uncompetitive draws and other potential manipulations of the final standings.

There was just no way they could let us play later, knowing the results of all the other fixtures.

Ouch! That's a stilleto between the ribs.
I agree about the club though we put our players health at risk because that arsehole scudamore stood on the pitch at Highbury in an arsenal Tshirt and told us to, it was a fucking disgrace.

West Ham fans and media are pathetic, they want us to get angry with their deluded rants because they crave for us to make this some sort of "huge rivalry" they are a small club with a bunch of moronic supporters and that's all the are.

Nothing more, nothing less, yes this game is important for us but not because it's West Ham, it's because of the situation, they can't seem to grasp that and the really sad thing is they will probably put their best performance of the season in tomorrow night, it really is their cup final.

To us it's just another fixture and THAT is why they hate us.
