Would it be the end of the world if THFC chucked a few million his way. Probably not in the grand scheme of things. Just help the guy out as we should with all legends.

I don't like the thought of an agent being involved. Perhaps that's cynical of me but he would obviously like to be taking a percentage of Jimmy's earnings again which may never happen now and perhaps a fee of some kind for any funds raised.

His former clubs including Spurs, Chelsea and Barnet could hold fundraising tribute matches before the new season begins with all the gate money going to Jimmy and his family and I'm sure there would be retired players who would be happy to play in them and make them memorable occasions.

Perhaps the agent who must have earned a lot from Jimmy over the years would like to help fund it having a special souvenir programme printed or the like from his own pocket. (Yeah, very likely...).

Not sure where we would play but surely another London club would lend their ground for a game like this as Jimmy is a true England legend, not just a club player. Combined effort from these clubs would raise a decent amount.

I expect to get shot down for these comments but here goes anyway.
If his agent is serious about charitable donations he needs to give some indication of his client's financial circumstances.
I love Greavsie. I have seen him play live. I have seen him in a theatre, brilliant by the way. I have a signed print of him scoring against Man U.
But I feel uncomfortable about the agent's pitch.

Yes ... it should be transparent what Jimmy's financial position is, Not take his agents opinion. All connected to THFC, as fans , management , players should have a benefit game for him, with ex players in each side along with current squad. This should be at WHL this summer. All income is via the THFC Foundation Charity, as they can claim tax relief, and as far as I know charitable payments are tax free for the individual..

Perhaps someone on here can clarify?

A few million? :wideyed:. Why would we do that? I'd like the club to make some kind of contribution but let's not go overboard.

Let's not forget there are other ex players that are in ill health. For starters poor old Sol Campbell still hasn't had the brain surgery he so desperately needs.

I'll donate to a Judas Campbell lobotomy fund.

Apparently his agent today agin appealed for donations. And the tribute trust the releases a statement through the club saying they've been helping and are continuing to. Begs the question, why did they appeal for donations again? Something doesnt add up. The least the club can do is reimburse the hospital costs and pay the rehab costs.

Btw, the tribute trust also asked for donations today for themselves. Sorry but the club really needs to get it together and fund them completely. The least the club can do for the trust.
