Just watched some vids of him. What an intriguing player. I bet he gets fouled to shit. It's like he's trolling the players he passes.

Slinky, slippery, cunning. Fascinating to watch. Incredible balance. Very natural player. Reminds me of Asprilla in the way he progresses the ball; also got a bit of the Lamelas about him.

Final ball could be better, but he's got potential to be sensational.

And after all that I'm still not really sure what to make of him. Weird experience watching him for some reason. lol

All his videos are all attack. I have yet to see some defensive clips of him battling wingers on launched balls or really tracking back and blowing up some attack. Very silky going forward though.

I know what you mean. I've also watched a few vids and he looks sensational going forward but there isn't actually that much footage of him actually defending. You have to wonder why that is . If you compare with someone like Sanchez it is clear that Sanchez is an absolute beast but Cancelo's highlight reels are suspiciously good for someone who isn't more highly rated so you have to ask why that is?

I know the other RBs we've been linked with. Pereira can certainly defend as can Toljan (who was brilliant for the German U21s this summer) and Henrichs. As good as he looks when attacking I think i'd prefer any of those to Cancelo unless I see some evidence that he can also defend.

Certainly looks like a winger, rather than a FB, for me. Though, as you say, that just might be because only seen him going forward in clips.

Looks a talent, would really pressure Trips. I do wonder if he would come without 1st team gaurantees

He's mesmerising to watch. It's almost like he's playing in a trance. It's strange. So natural and silky.

Def. would like to see more of his defending attributes if we were to bring him in as a RB, though.

For the prices being thrown about in the press, we could have bought Pereria already.
Lots of talk about agents and third party ownership. Could well have been 25 buys out his contract but we'd have to spend 10-20+ more to sort out agents/ownership and get him 100% because the PL requires that. Just me hypothesizing.

I don't see them turning down 27million for Cancelo unless it was a leak to force Chelsea's, or another club's, hands. Could be we were also bait for other clubs. Never know.

Seems like Valencia agree to send Cancelo to Inter for Kondogbia. Probabaly a loan with an option to buy.

Playing for Valencia now
...and not RB or RWB but on the right side of midfield in a 442.

Edit: And now he is walking off the field crying as the fans sing to him. Sure looks like it might be his last game there. Interesting scenes.

Confirmed by their coach that he's going to Inter and asked to play infront of the Valencia fans one last time.

Cancelo played a big part in the win tonight but I wouldn't say that had much to do with the defensive side of the game. Not too upset with missing out on this one though he seems a talent. Inter have done great business this summer. It seems that they are also going to get Patrik Schick from Samp as he has passed all his medicals. They are going to be a formidable side soon.

Yeah, I thought they had a pretty good squad last year, but their managers were poor. Not a fan of Spaletti as a person, but his results are pretty good and the squad looks even better this year, so they should be able to fight for the CL spots and maybe even the title.

Cancelo looks like a good buy (especially if the deal is straight swap with Kondogbia), although I think he will end up as a winger than a rb when all is said and done. I rate all of their transfers tbh; Borja is solid and so are Vecino and Dalbert, but the one I'm most excited about is Schick. He's really good and I'm glad his heart problems were sorted.

Inter's business is more focused this year it seems. The scattergun approach of flashing cash last year didn't do much for team building last year...and the manager situation. Apparently Schick is happy to play 2nd fiddle to Icardi (and would have at Juve too). If we didn't investigate this we are going to regret it in a few years. ITK saying teams interested in Janssen for more than we paid. We could move him and get Schick with little cash on top. I'll def watch Inter this year to see the magnitude of regret.

Looks like Serie A could be ultra competitive this year. A chance for Juve to regress and both Milan teams have strengthened significantly, while Napoli and Roma are always there or there abouts.
