John Bostock has joined league one Sheffield Wednesday for the rest of the season (BBC)

Fallen off radar but would be good to see him play some games

He will be gone in the summer......

He's gone from a Championship loan in Hull to League 1 while others have progressed quicker than he has.

Surely last chance saloon for him at Spurs. This loan spell could be make or break.

Rolling out all the cliches at once.

This sort of thing has been said before about Bostock though. I do think there is a certain type of modern day prospect who, because of the hype and the money and all that, isn't suited to loan spells. They need the higher demands and pressure of playing for their parent club, who ultimately make the decision over their long term future, to get performances out of them.

Unfortunately I don't think Bostock will make the grade. I also have a bad feeling about him playing under Gary Megson who will probably convince his defenders to lump it over him rather than getting him involved in the play.

This is what I thought. Megsons teams have always played awful football. It surprised me that we let Bostock go on loan there as Sherwood always seems quite certain that he only lets are youth go out to teams that play passing football.

megson's actually had this wednesday team playing some fairly decent stuff much of this year, though they do tend to resort to a bit of hoofing when things aren't going right (such as the last couple weeks). what's odd is that he's been playing bostock out wide ... on the right. of recent, jermaine johnson has been their form player, and he's at his best on the left, so presumably he (jj) is there for the width, with bostock then able then to cut back inside. but it hasn't really worked. bostock's had moments that show promise, but they've not been frequent, and megson's already dropped hints that he's not working hard enough.

he tends to play jose semedo with chris lines in the middle of midfield, and while the former will not - and should not - be dropped, i'd certainly like to see bostock lined up in an attacking central mid role, with semedo protecting the back four (they need it). and megson's been doing alot of tinkering with this team ... so we might yet see it.

anyway, thus far, his time at hillsborough hasn't really appeared promising.

This.

Megson's teams do not play pretty football or encourage players to express themselves.

A weird loan.

#thfc Bostock was subbed at half-time in the recent 2-1 defeat against Exeter. Gary Megson hinted at his displeasure with him...

#thfc Megson: 'We have some players here who are playing as if they are doing us a favour. They think they are better than they are.'

he didn't make the bench for there next game

Weird decision with them being 3rd behind Charlton and Sheff Utd, but may be good for Bostock. Clearly Megson didn't care much for him.

Looks like this lad is a no hoper. Probably got bags of talent and when I've seen him he's had good technique, but hasn't been able to translate that to any decent period of form anywhere he's been.

My manager is a Wednesday fan so I'll try and get some first-hand accounts off him. I think getting rid of Megson is good news for Bostock, so we'll have to see.
