Can you blame him? Anton didn't know what was said until he spoke to his GF after the match yet ashley claims he heard anton say black **** and then cole and the defence also suggested the case should be thrown out because cole said he shook hands with anton whereas anton claimed he didn't therefore rendering him a unreliable witness
Yes I can.

Racism is racism and Rio is now just as bad.

The choc ice comment is plain insulting.

They could have called Cashley all kinds of names and I'd most probably have agreed but they bought colour into it again and Rio now has absolutely NO moral ground.

He can laugh at what he wants can he? I don't think so.

Racism works both ways.

I agree he shouldn't of said the racist comment but I don't blame him for abusing cashley

Exactly.

He could have easily abused Cashley a number of ways without having to resort to racism.

Rio has proved to be just as bad and appears to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

You can be racist to white people too...

Would be so ironic if Rio ends up being charged for using Racist language.

I really hope it puts an end to his Media whoring, I wonder who he learned that particular skill from??

I don't think he will be charged but he certainly can't wriggle out of what he said, if choc ice isn't a racist slur I don't know what is, the twitter said Cole and always been a sell out, just for good measure.

His agent ;)

"Look, Rio, I know you are a feckwit, with an IQ of 7 and the gravitas of a flea, but if you just overcome your natural shyness (sic.) and act the buffoon you are on front of a camera, as you do in real life, millions of cretins will pay to watch...and you (WE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) will get even more richer (sic.) (y)"

The position he's been put in, caught between his Nazi team-mate, and his cretin friends, you could almost feel sorry for him.

NOT!

Someday humanity will forgive him for being the most objectionable gutter-snipe to have ever poisoned the atmosphere with his prescence, when the great cities come tumbling down and the strength that is in us fails, and the World of Men (and wimmim - sorry gals, I is paraphrasing from The Return of the King ;)) is ENDED ...

...BUT IT IS NOT THIS DAY!

Pleased that the old bill are looking into the choc ice comment made by Rio's mate (and therefore Rio's exposure of and agreement with it through follow up tweets).

Racism works both ways, and i'm not buying the slang line, i've never heard that term before but my immediate thought was 'racist'. I imagine it was the case for many if the number of complaints made to police in the last day or so is any indication

The FA also needs to punish Rio somehow, even if it couldn't or wouldn't be comparable to Suarez (who actually said a racial slur) to make this clear.

The Kick it Out campaign is doomed to failure if Rio is able to get away scot-free. What incentive is there to English or Foreign players to cut this out of their persona (if it exists) if black or mixed race players are able to get away with it?

The interview i saw with Paul Elliott (CBE) over the weekend was an absolute disgrace. Mumbling and stuttering, he looked CRESTFALLEN that Terry was found not guilty and he wasn't able to get his over inflated ego into the public eye by playing the race card yet again. It makes me think that he would not be as supportive towards any future issues of racism regarding white players as the victim. If he can't be equal/impartial, there is no way he should be such a figurehead for a worthy and important initiative in football and society as a whole

Yes, Terry is a scumbag. Yes, he is a vile creature. Yes, he's a cheat. Yes, he's from a family full of wrong uns. Yes, he is a shit penalty taker. BUT, whether through 'true' means or technicalities, he has been found not guilty. Rio is also a scumbag and he has dropped his foot right in it. If equality and tolerance stand any chance he must recieve some punishment as well as an admission from the FA and the KIO team that he has promoted racial terms and racism is 'a black and white issue'.

Yep, police investigating the latest CRIME

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-Twitter-comment-directed-at-Ashley-Cole.html

A user, believed to be a man from the Derbyshire area, referred to Chelsea star Cole as a 'choc ice' on the site.
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand then replied: "I hear you fella! Choc ice is classic hahahahahaha!!".
Derbyshire Police said it was now investigating the original Tweet after receiving complaints from members of the public.
The incident comes after Chelsea captain John Terry was cleared of a racially aggravated public order offence at Westminster Magistrates' Court last week.
It was alleged Terry had maliciously called Rio's brother Anton a "f****** black c***" during a game last October.
Ashley Cole, 31, had told the trial that Terry, his Stamford Bridge captain, was not racist.
Derbyshire Police said it was now investigating the comments made on Twitter at the weekend after receiving a number of complaints from members of the public.
The "choc ice" term is understood to mean "black on the outside, white on the inside."
Ekow Eshun, a former director of the ICA who now writes about culture, said on BBC Radio 4's Today programme that "choc ice" is a "slightly odd and archaic term" as it dates back to a time when black people "worried much more about their place in society" as there were fewer black people in prominent positions.
He said there was "no excuse for the term, it is not a fair term and it is sad to see words like that still in usage".
Novelist Diran Adebayo disagreed and said the term didn't bother him and that within the "black-on-black world that Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand find themselves in it is fair enough for someone to say that about someone else...possibly."
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We have received complaints from members of the public regarding alleged racist comments made on a social networking site.
"These concerns will be fully investigated to establish whether any criminal offences have been committed."
Cole moved to calm the situation at the weekend after users began discussing the comments and reacting to them.
In a statement issued through his lawyers, the footballer said: "Ashley Cole has been made aware of the discussion following comments appearing on Twitter and wishes to make it clear that he and Rio Ferdinand are good friends and Ashley has no intention of making any sort of complaint.
"Ashley appreciates that Tweeting is so quick it often results in off-hand and stray comments."
Ferdinand later tweeted: "What I said yesterday is not a racist term. It's a type of slang/term used by many for someone who is being fake. So there."
A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said the force was not investigating the comments made by Ferdinand.

John Terry charged by the FA over Anton Ferdinand clash
Chelsea captain John Terry has been charged by the Football Association after last season's incident with QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.
Terry, 31, is alleged to have used "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour" during the Premier League game on 23 October.
The FA statement continues: "It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Ferdinand."
Terry has until 3 August to respond.
