Martin Jol has denied making remarks which criticised Tottenham sporting director Damien Comolli.

The Dutchman had quotes attributed to him which questioned Comolli’s transfer policy and the way that the acquisition of new players was handled at White Hart Lane.

A spokesman for Jol has now denied the coach said anything to that effect, saying the comments did not come from him and have been wrongly credited to the former Spurs boss.

"These quotes are not attributable to Martin,” said the spokesman.

"We believe they come from articles in Holland which in the translation from Dutch to English have been reported as coming from Martin, but they did not."

Reports in English newspapers had quoted the 51-year-old as saying he felt the squad would be ‘unbalanced’ with the signings of players such as Younes Kaboul, Kevin Prince-Boateng and Adel Taarabt, and that he did not have the same relationship with Comolli as he had had with previous director Frank Arnesen.

LOL. Which just proves my point about people pasting whichever prejudice they have onto the Comolli situation.

So we'll see some big retractions in the newspapers tomorrow. Or maybe not...

Evidently there is a silence clause in his pay-off contract.

Eddie, I have a lot of time for you. In general you talk a lot of sense, but you're one-eyed on this. Evidently we don't know the truth of any of this, but equally obviously you've made up your mind. When a man makes up his mind without the evidence you have to ask why. I think you've decided Comolli's a bad egg and you'll belive what confirms this opinion and disbelieve what doesn't.

To be honest nicdic we now have one set of quotes attributed to Martin in criticism of Commoli and one set of quotes attributed to his 'spokesman' in denial of this, so how does that clear it up? There is always the possibility that BMJ's quotes were genuine, a 'spokesman' can always attempt to cover them up afterwards.

Either way, I'm not too fussed. My gut feeling is the quotes were genuine.

Well, I believe what Levy told us about how it works, and I hope that the spokesman is right. Otherwise Jol is losing the class he had. He lost some of it when he didn't walk.

As opposed to our board's total classiness throughout the course of this farce, nic?

I'm not denying the board got caught with their pants down, but people still bumming Jol need a reality check. He was a good bloke, but the sun don't shine out of his arse. You lot should all move on.

We have. But if he's going to be slagged off by retards (by which I don't mean those who've raised genuine reasoned concerns, but the snivelling bandwagon-jumping twats who deserve to drown in their own snot) then I for one will continue to defend him.

And the board wasn't merely caught with its pants down; someone (almost certainly that **** Kemsley) was actively briefing against Jol via tame journos and ITKs. They've dissembled and actively lied. Levy and Kemsley were smirking and sniggering whilst we were going down against Getafe. I wouldn't trust Levy further than I could spit. Do you think he could give a shit about us mere mortals other than what he can screw out of us for tickets and shit merchandise?

I care about the facts that we've been given by the board, and not whatever bollocks the media decides to sprout each day.

This was blatant treachery and scheming of the highest order, "OUR" team had just conceded and the scumbag PK was seen to be manipulating and celebrating pulling strings to MJ's demise when the most ardent Spurs fan was more concerned about the result on the night.

Oh right, and how exactly do the board get these facts to us? Yes, that's right, via the media.

OK, so you did not think BMJ was the right man for the job, your entitled to your opinion, but coming out with some of the nonsense you and other bmj haters have spouted is just idiotic.

So the facts that the board give out are more facts than bmj saying what he is supposed to have said?

What about the fact that they went and tried to get Ramos behind is back in public? Then lied about it. What about that fact?

Was it you that said he lost class because he never walked out on his team? What shite, a man who took all of that prssure and criticism who wanted to stay in his job lost class?

Jog on down the seven sisters mate or even further east towards Upton Park, you will be right at home!

Oh to be a football chairman, you can hire managers/ coaches and when things go tits up you can fire them, and on you go on your merry way, because your fireproof, you own the club. If you have a Dof, even better, there is somebody else you can also fire if the proverbial hits the fan, and your actions to hire these people in the first place is bullet proof.

How many people does a chairman have to fire before there competence to be running a football club is questioned, surely if you hire and fire it shows a blatant lack of judgement? Can a football club achieve long term stability and most importantly long term success on this strategy?

If we stay in a relegation battle or remain in the bottom half for the remainder of the season, Levy will need another scapegoat, he can't have Ramos, the poor sod has just turned up.

If I was Commoli I'd be very wary of the Levy noose. I feel another hangin is likely before the season is done.

I lost my faith in Spurs boards the day we hired that **** Neill. It's never been restored.
