SPURS boss Martin Jol will listen to offers for badboy Egyptian Mido after falling out with the striker.

Mido has been involved in a number of rows with his manager in recent weeks, including not turning up for training on several occasions.

Spurs have already tried to offload Mido by including him in a £7million offer to land Charlton striker Darren Bent, but were rebuffed last week by the struggling south London club.

Spurs also offered Mido to West Ham but with Upton Park chief Alan Curbishley trying hard to bring harmony to the Hammers dressing room, the opportunity was declined.

It leaves Mido out in the cold at Spurs just months after the club threw him a lifeline by signing him from Roma on a permanent basis.

Jol's commitment to the player came after two loan spells at White Hart Lane when no other club would touch him.

Mido maintained he had been treated unfairly by other clubs and that his reputation was illdeserved, but has shown himself to be anything but reliable and a poor performance in the defeat to Liverpool did not help his cause.

Now Tottenham have had enough and want to offload him.

Meanwhile, Spurs' interest in Bent may have subsided but Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder is still hoping to land him.

Bent (above) has been on the St James' Park radar for years. He turned down a move to Tyneside as a teenager, preferring regular first-team football at Ipswich instead. But the Magpies have been encouraged by the noises coming out of south-east London after they were forced to disregard him last summer when he signed a new deal with Charlton.

Roeder instead turned to Nigerian Obafemi Martins, who has now settled to such an extent that Newcastle have had to dismiss speculation he could go to Chelsea.

The Toon boss and chairman Freddy Shepherd have been scouring Europe for strikers in recent weeks, but still see Bent as the answer.

Roeder said: "It is going the way we expected. When you are looking for quality players they are never easy to get out of the clubs they are already at.

"Managers do not want to sell their better players, so it is difficult - but I expected it to be.

"We are working hard and we will see what the next few weeks bring."

Mido has played for us for a season and a half. Martin Jol must be aware of his temperament by now. If they didn't get on he would not have been brought back.

I stopped reading when I got to this bit. Absolute rubbish. Jol was interviewed on Radio London last weekend, and when asked about transfers he didn't want to discuss them, EXCEPT (and he made quite a point about making an exception of this one player) to say that he wanted to completely deny that we were after Darren Bent. According to Jol, we have not and will not make any offer for him, as we are happy with the strikers we've got. He said he understands that journos have to fill their papers with something, but that was all it was.

And I know who I'm more likely to believe.

Took the words out of my mouth Ali. A nonsense article trying to stir up transfer speculation in what has been a very boring transfer window so far.
BMJ stuck up for Mido straight after the Liverpool game citing he was ill before the match - something he didn't need to do with a striker he has 'fallen out with'.
    Next!

mido cant move as he is in the same situaton as mascherano

I believe that Mido didn't play for Roma early this season. A player can be registered for a maximum of three clubs during a season, but play for only two.

Bent is apparently going to be out until the end of Feb with his injury. Why would we want to go for a whole month, which includes UEFA Cup games, with only 3 strikers having a chance of being fit? We'd only need Berbs and Defoe to tweak a muscle and Clive Allen would have to be drafted into the team !!!!!

Clive would do fine...Leave him to poach and goal hang and we'll be laughing.

    Theres something about Mido

Mido is a fella who has always caused a problem weather its at club or country, 5 clubs in 5 years says it all. Saying that, he does have some great qulities that even Berbi doesn't have (pure aggression and strength) and sometimes you need that to complement the flair of the other fowards. Although, if he is causing trouble for the rest of the team there is no other option then to let him go.

I wondered why Mido hadnt had more games than he has had, looks like theres the reason.

Dont wana say i told you so... but...

Why we would buy bent when he's out till feb? well aint it obvious? Charlton will want to sell and we want to buy the best young english players, so what if he's out for a month or two, look at the bigger picture the same as we did when we took Steed, buy him now or risk losing him for good, i know what i'd prefere us to do. If Mido went as part of the deal and the worst happened to two of the 3 strikers we have surely with all our midfielders we could play 5 or drop Steed of 1 striker.

Really, the posting of bull shit articles regarding who we are supposed to be buying/selling etc should cease. The policy of the club for a long time now has been only to make announcements when a deal has been done. So without a direct quote from Jol/Commoli or the board they are nothing more than meaningless drivel.

I like Mido, but he has been a bit disappointing this season. Shame, think maybe his weight-loss has taken away his power. Maybe he's better fat...
  13. frosteye
It might be bullshit mate, it might not. But thats what these forums/threads are for. To post news to get us Yiddos talking and discussing who we think is pants and all the rest of it.

It is annoying but if this and other stories werent posted, we wouldnt have much to talk about
  14. omario
well theres no point of posting rumours about MIDO! he DID play for roma in the super cup this season against inter! therfore he cant leave spurs now! secondly jst read the article u'l know its bullshit, says mido had TWO loan spells at WHL, only 1 18 month one as far as i remember. shit journalist, wrote a shit article for a paper full of shit!
  15. jassthebass
I hope this is BS as I think Mido is potentially a greatplayer. As I've said in previous threads he just needs more games - We cant question his effort (Possibily his injury problems reflect he's trying 2 hard in training? - discuss) He was magnificent against Wigan last season @ the lane - we deserved to lose that match which eneded up a 2-2 - his all round team play was brilliant. Lets not slag off players until (Hey lets not slag off our players!) we know any real truth.

    COYS :)

Further to my comments after the Liverpool game, his embarrassing strike and all his hands in head dramatics, Mido just ain't all that, he had a good beginning at WHL but hasn't done anything for a year. BMJ has been more than patient with him.
If it was at all possible and the opportunity was for DB to come to WHL and Mido to go...well who on earth could say that was a bad move?!
Mido is over rated, over paid and over weight. Get rid and bring in some prime English talent.
