    SPURS NEWS:

Martin Jol has reiterated his stance on Jermain Defoe, insisting Spurs won't be selling the striker during January's transfer window.

    Source - eatsleepsport

Premiership rivals Liverpool, Aston Villa and Everton have been linked with the England international, who has been in and out of the first-team during the current campaign.

Defoe, who has scored some important goals in the last month, has always indicated that he would like more regular football but has never asked to leave White Hart Lane.

Jol has always stated that he wants at four regular striking options, which he currently has in Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov, Mido and Robbie Keane.

When asked about the Defoe situation, the Spurs boss said: "There is no way Jermain Defoe will be going anywhere in the transfer window.

"He is highly rated by all the coaching staff."

Its posted so people can comment, obviously you don't have much to say on the subject, other people may do.

The point is Jol has made these comments more than once now, he shouldn't have had to or even need to but the media have obviously forced his hand. I am glad he has come and and said once again that JD is not going anywhere. Hopefully if he says it enough times the press will actually start to believe it.

Above anything else it would be football suicide to even contemplate it, with Keane out injured & Mido struggling to score, come on sell our best asset! GET REAL, its pure journalistic hype.

Bloody ridiculous isn't it? We have a very public policy of having 4 top class strikers because of European football, but as soon as one is out of the team for a couple of weeks, they're automatically unhappy and linked with a move away.
