My favourite bit:

"If I had £2bn, I would buy Arsenal." He is laughing. "And I’d make a big parking place from the Emirates and make a new stadium for Spurs."

Managers and players come and go.

he core of my support is the club itself -the honourable name of Tottenham Hotspur.

What I dislike is dishonesty and lies and the current Board has been guilty of this and can't really be forgiven for it.

We all crave success for Spurs and I sincerely hope that Ramos gets us back on track and he should be given 100% support and encouragement. I have no complaints about Jol, he did a good job up until this season and I'm sure would have turned things around if the Board hadn't destroyed things for him. As for coming back, I tend to think that it's usually a mistake and, in this case, it's unfortunate because so many of us had tremendous respect for Jol. Things have moved on too far.

Even Wenger said Jol should have been given more time and supported through the bad patch and that getting rid of him was a mistake and, despite all the ribbing and joking we do about the man, all credit to him for being right. This time he did actually see it!

It`s nice to finally hear what has been going on at the club. The part about Comolli coming in at the club is interesting to read. It would have been great to actually hera what players Jol wanted in the summer. The most comforting reading is that Jol actually think Comolli-Ramos could work now that the head coach is coming in after the sporting director.

would love to see him here again but now we should keep our faith, support & love for Juande Ramos .. he could stay here for long time and we could love him too.
He can have my support, if he does well he can have my respect, he will have earned it but I don't see him getting my love in the near future.

Ramos is a different kind of man to Martin, certainly hasn't come across as anywhere near as amiable as Martin is, I don't know how to describe it, from day one Martin won me over, the first match, the first interview, he gave me a warm feeling inside. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that everything Martin went through, I went through and that everything I went through Martin went through. I'm talking Spurs wise of course.

Juande has something about him which leaves me feeling disconnected and cold. Martin loved the club, the history, the fabled Tottenham way, Juande is probably only here for the money and to be honest, when the story broke was less than helpful to the situation with his public comments.

Just don't ever see myself having the same affection towards Ramos as I do with Jol I'm afraid, and I think a lot will feel that way regardless of how well or how badly Ramos does.

problem is with those pieces they are a bit too Jol friendly for my liking...where are the challenging questions?...where is the justification for leaving this squad in the bottom three with a defence making the same mistakes as the previous three seasons of his reign? He makes out he was badly treated, true, but he still does not take responsibility for the shocking form this season

I think that he has every right to avoid responsibility for it personally speaking.

The players are the ones out on the pitch and almost all of them have under-performed this season so far. They should shoulder the majority of the responsibility for our position because if the squad had performed to the best of their ability then there is little doubt in my mind that we would not be in the position which we currently occupy.

Secondly, right from the start Jol was undermined by certain elements of the board. As numerous people have said his position was made untenable from the start of the season thanks to the boards gaffes. Then the media started a campaign which I believe unsettled the camp further, placing Martin in a very difficult position.

I wanted him to turn things around, I desperately wanted him to deliver a huge "Fuck off" to the media, the players not giving their all, and the elements of the board who were wanting rid of him, but he couldn't, and not many managers in that position could have or indeed have been able to do any different than Martin.

Simple as that really!

Some of you seem to forget that Martin is our most successful manager for a LONG, LONG time and the only manager to EVER have gotten us qualification for Europe through the league for 2 consecutive seasons. Think back and realise just how lucky we have been to have a man able to do that for the past two seasons, a man who loves the club as much as we do. Maybe Ramos will do better, perhaps he will turn out not to be the saviour everybody thinks he is, time will tell, but those criticising Martin really need to take a good look at yourselves and realise just what an absolute gem he is.

bring jol back when he's done well at another club, then all the fussy people will at least have to chomp on the humble-pie that is his track record

Joey - Im empathetic to your views re Ramos.

I imagine it's becuase he's not been endorsed by our media yet, not given an all embracing "Spurs through and through" interview, citing swathes of Blanchflower and Nicholson soundbites.

I am optimistic that the change of culture that is about to be convened on the training ground by The Three Amigos will be enough to get our season back on track and possibly, maybe a trophy at the end, if not a respectable recovery ready for the re-build that is inevitable.

Jol was / is a Spurs fan as well as the Manager and he played both its support and the media's reporting of the support to a finely honed rapport.

If Ramos wants to win the same level of affection he will have to change his personality or win a clean sweep of titles and pots. And we are a million miles away from that happening.

Jol would bulldoze it and rebuild it three times the size with a shelf where the exec boxes used to be .
