Versatile Brazilian could be a good fit for Spurs

by Matthew Harris on October 15, 2012
Yet another transfer rumour links Tottenham with a January move for the Brazilian international Jonas. The 28 year old is currently at Valencia – for whom he scored in pre-season against Tottenham and his standout performances in a disappointing season for his club have attracted the attention of some of Europe’s finest.
Jonas has little in the way of true pedigree and at 28 has just six international caps to his name and when he moved from Gremio in 2011, the fee involved was just one and a quarter million Euros.
It may seem very much like a non-starter but the player’s versatility could make him a better shout than some of the names seen in the past few days. Jonas can play as a winger, an attacking midfielder or an out-and-out striker and this capacity to adapt might just attract AVB when the winter transfer window opens.

So that means a jack of all trades but master of none. We need specialists, not generalists.

Pass. Herrmann/Clasie/Wanyama/Aubameyang/Zaha seem way better signings. Cost effective, upside, and youth to build around should be the focal point.
