From what little I've seen of him at Villa, his appreciation of movement around him is a level above anything else in that league.

And he's adding things to his game as he goes along, particularly aggression (in a good way) and speed of execution (also in a good way!)

With what I have read about his performances it sounds like we might pull him out in January and send him on a premiership loan like we did with Walker

Can we do that if he's on a season long loan?

Being honest I have not been that impressed with him from what I have seen, Hopefully getting regular games may benefit him.

Nice to welcome another positive member to the forum with a 100% positivity to post ratio... ;)

Villa fan I know says he has been their best player since going there. Position has moved around a bit but they are pleased to have someone who is positive, can pick a pass and press

Everything i've read has been really positive, it's looking like an excellent loan at the moment. Hope he stays fit and keeps learning - he's always been noted for his talent through the youth ranks, would be great to bring another one through to senior level.

His goal is the last one. Good run into the box after a nice through ball from a teammate to the forward and a nice finish

Great goal for the u21's by Onomah, then a great run by Walker-Peters to create the chance from the pen (not fouled directly). However, the most impressive element from Onomah for me is the ball through to Abrahams which slices the defence in half (3m35 in clip).

OK - I have just seen the player watch thread as well... confused

He's certainly looking a lot more assertive in his play recently.

Exactly where he needed to develop his game for me.

After a bright start it seems he has been pushed out of the starting eleven (somewhat due to a formation change) and is being brought on for the last 10-20 mins. Needs to force his way back into contention, but his lackadaisical attitude both on and off the ball has been questioned, as has his willingness to track back.

A Villa fan I spoke to earlier said he has looked a bit lightweight. Opinions and arseholes I suppose.

Steve Bruce on Aston Villa's chances of signing Tottenham Hotspur star Josh Onomah
This is what the Aston Villa boss has to say about Josh Onomah.

Steve Bruce admits Aston Villa would have to ‘break the bank’ to land on-loan ace Josh Onomah.

The 20-year-old was the stand-out performer in today’s 2-1 win over Fulham and Bruce would love to make his loan move from Tottenham into a permanent one.

Spurs have big plans for the England U21 star, though, and are unlikely to sell when his temporary spell expires at the end of the season.

“Josh Onomah was terrific today.

“We’ll try and break the bank for him!

“But we know Spurs have got a very good player there.”

The chances of Villa landing Onomah are slim.

Spurs sent him out on loan to aid his development after starring for England U20’s when they won the World Cup in the summer.

Onomah , 9* [points]. Completely ran the show as he was given a start after six games on the bench. Won important tackles, looked to create whenever he got forward and crucially had composure in important areas. Also set up the winning goal.

PS! One of the moderators "edited" my post and deleted most of what was posted above "Onamah, 9,"; so I re-edited it. The number 9 obviously states the rating number and not his age as the link above would indicate
Very-very funny by whoever did. And I hope the concerning person felt very powerful by doing it.

Non-starter, Brucey. He'll be coming back home. Poch doesn't develop 'em to give 'em away.

I hope he continues to impress. Next season will be interesting. I wouldn’t be surprised if Poch isn’t quite ready to give him extended playing time, and instead he gets loaned out for a year to a lower level PL team such as Bournemouth. If he excels there, against PL opponents, then perhaps he will come back and will replace a Dembele, who’ll be 32 by then.

“Break the bank” and yet he hasn’t started him for 6 games?

Should tell you how talented the lad is more than anything else. I don't think we will let him go anywhere, as he gets more experience he will really become a top CM imo

His performance.

Notes:

- Playing up further
- Looks mighty confident
- Great through balls
- Aston Villa's CF is shit
