Villa fans giving him another kicking. Wonder how his stats stack up against the abuse this time? Certainly going to toughen him up if it doesn't break him.

I think he's having a poor game but Whoscored has him down as playing on the left in a 4-4-2. Bizarre

I am gonna come out here and say, I really don't see what he has or what were all waiting for with him. He looks lazy and a bit switched off when I have seen him play for Villa, nearly like he thinks he is playing beneath himself.

Maybe Poch is not so dumb and knows a thing or two. Let's hope though that Josh does knuckle down but the majority of players don't indeed only the few make it from promising young player to being a top level player.

Don't get me wrong I want our players to succeed, I just have never seen much in him to make me think he can make it.

Be a real shame if it proves to be the case. He was coasting youth football, so hopefully it's only a matter of time before he gets up to speed in the men's game. Would be a huge waste of talent.

The comments about his attitude are fair enough.

But when you have seen him play for Villa has he played CM? I think that's what most of us think.

I certainly agree that he's not very good anywhere else on the pitch. However, I have been impressed whenever i've seen him play in what I believe is his best position in the centre of the park, not an AM, striker, left or right wing.

Not sure this lad is going to make it. Clearly talented, but seems to lack concentration and that bit extra required to be a top Premier League player. I hope I am wrong though.

Is he less lazy or switched off playing in the center?

looks like he was playing LM, wtf Bruce.

We could loan them Wanyama, Bruce would stick him on the wing, Villa fans would say he is shit.

Could be villa's tactic... Make him look worthless... Then they will get him cheap. They were always looking for a perm deal. But we wanted more then they were willing to pay.

Ok optimistic... But I don't think he is that bad of a player.

imo he seems to rise to the responsibility of the position and puts in a shift. i don't know whether it's because he knows the position better so knows when and where to press and what not or whether he just thinks he can just get away with putting limited effort in further forward but he's never looked a defensive liability at cm. as i said before, his u21 manager at international level is aidy boothroyd, the type of manager who would play 11 cloggers and runners if he could and yet he trusts onomah at cm over other players who supposedly work harder. onomah's never been any good in any other position at youth level so writing him off because he's no good there at first team level either is silly, if he'd put in the same level of performances at cm then i'd be worried but until that happens i have no reason to view him any differently.

Not overly worried. We have had players come through much worse loans than this. Kane and Mason off the top of my head had a few shockers. His reaction to it next season is key.

Was playing with a real swagger and arrogance when he came back from the U20 WC, that is now totally eroded. to the point where this loan now seems pretty futile.

It's a learning curve. A lot of football is about mentality. This will either make him stronger and adapt or he goes the same way as plenty of talented players before him.

Skillful and has all the physical attributes. Unfortunately has zero aggression or desire.

Agreed, I hope I am wrong and he gets another loan next year and this is all part of the learning curve for him. He has so much talent so I hope he takes a look at Harry and knuckles down and works hard. Would love to see him come through and be a starter for us.
