Apparently he said that he read they were travelling to England on social media.

But if you're saying that isn't the case then fair enough.

Yeah, he said that. He heard about the interest and about the travel through social media (I guess he means twitter)

He also said he speaks fluent english fwiw

Some could interpret that to mean that he's implying the rumours aren't true and is just Twitter rubbish?

The rumours didn't begin on twitter, and his manager confirmed Spurs was interested in him.
I think it means we are negotiating with the club first, not the player

Di Marzio isn't a credible source now though is he.
Depends. He's good for certain clubs - his Manchester United info is typically very good for example.

I think he deals mostly with agents so sometimes he's used to get word out to build up interest and other times he has genuine knowledge.

Is this guy left footed?

From the short video, he looks right-footed. But in a couple of the passages of play, his starting position seems to be LCB.

In others, his starting position is RCB.

The way he comes out of defence with the ball, he also looks ideally suited to play in the middle of a 3 x CB set up.

So we're going to sell Wimmer for about £20m and buy this guy for £5m? Sounds like one of those smart transfers Poch was talking about.

I largely agree but note that the fee mentioned is 10 million Euros, and presumably Levy will be haggling about add-ons and clauses.

Also Foyth is much less experienced in terms of first team club football than Wimmer was when we signed him.

i would see Foyth battling it out with CCV as squad depth, noting that CCV already has the benefit of a couple of seasons of being taught exactly what Poch wants from his CBs.

The Poch-Veron relationship is clearly working in our favour though, and if I was a young Argentine CB heading to Europe, the potential of learning from an Argentine international CB who believes in developing youth would be a major factor in my decision.

Tottenham line up £10m deal for teenage star Juan Foyth

Tottenham are to hold talks with Estudiantes officials this week, as they consider buying teenage defender Juan Foyth from the Argentine club.

Spurs have identified the 19-year-old, who played for Argentina in their 3-0 defeat by England in last month’s Under-20 World Cup, as a possible star of the future. Sources in South America suggest the deal could be worth £10million.

It would make sense if Wimmer is sold to get someone a bit younger who isn't going to demand first team football early on.

May the Foyth be with you :cautious:

I have no idea about this guy. Does anyone with any knowledge think he will feature much in the first team or is he development squad for now?

Seems pretty low key to me.
