This is how we have to do it.
If only we could find some young cheap attackers this window too

Never ever wrong to buy talented footballers.
Absolutely, we all complain when we don't get players early enough and by the time everyone knows how good they are we can't afford them.

This signing doesn't get the pulse racing like a "name" would but it's exactly the type of thing we should be doing.

How much did City pay for Stones and why so much?

How ready do you believe he is for 1st team football? I just can't see how we can fit Jan, Toby, Sanchez & Foyth in the same team. I'm guessing Sanchez & Foyth may rotate but I have no idea.
There's a not-so-subtle gap between 'starts every week', and an academy signing. He'll clearly be in the first team squad.

Completely agree, ok we are lacking some pace currently, in the AM areas and at full back. But with Rose back and potentially a new RB it will mean next summer we will possibly need only 1 or 2 players where we can spend big money as our squad is really shaping up nicely.

Sanchez is the upgrade on Wimmer and Foyth the upgrade on CCV so i think that training with the First team squad and the occasional game is what we expect and think he's very ready for that role.

I think Sanchez is Dier's replacement, and Foyth is Wimmer's
Dier won't play at the back anymore, or at least that's what is was said

Plenty of games LC, FACup, CL, PL ... plus accounting for cards and injuries, so we have 2 CB subs (also Dier if required)

I think Foyth is more akin to Dier as I could see him being a DM rather than Sanchez.

I'm talking about the role in the team, not the style of player

If we go with 3 at the back, Sanchez will play now, instead of Dier. Foyth will be backup, just like Wimmer

Foyth won't be playing DM either

I honestly can see Poch being wowed by Foyth's technical ability and could see him trying him in the DM role. I know I have just seen the youtube clips, but he has far more depth in his technical abilities than Dier does.

Looks like Spurs strategy of not paying even more over the odds than we could have done has paid off. Those that thought we should have paid say the extra £2m or so straight away please take note. ;)

Perhaps. Perhaps not. All deals are different, with their own idisiosyncratic factors.

Foyth is quoted extensively as saying his telephone conversations with Poch convinced him to join Spurs.

@Ossie85 has consistently argued that he doesn't believe the PSG bid was real. Even if there was a bid, PSG are having to sell players like Aurier, Krychowiak, Draxler and Lucas Moura to maintain some credence of FFP, so paying half the Aurier fee to land an untested CB when their real targets were Neymar and Mbappe made no sense.

In this case, Poch was clearly a huge factor. As he seems to have been with Davinson Sanchez and the potential Barkley deal too.

If Levy is convinced the player wants to join Spurs, and will not be swayed by last minute dollars and the Russian mob (I'm looking at you, Willian), then he is able to play hard ball.

Happy to have him onboard but let's not get too excited. If Arsenal or Liverpool made this signing we would be writing him off as another nobody. We need players that can make an impact now. I, for one, would not be entirely happy if we end the window with Sanchez, Aurier, Foyth and an injured Barkley. We desperately need upgrades on Sissoko and VJ
