Hi i'm new here. I think foyth is a good signing, poch develops young players really well, i think he could develop to be a great CB or maybe even a CDM which is what happend to dier.
Welcome! And fair play to you for joining this board now when you could have chosen to visit somewhere calmer. Texas, for example.

Announcement being held off to cover the disappointment of not getting many in before the end of the week?

Considering even the player has said this is done, I don't see why we always drag our feet so much with just announcing stuff. Our PR leaves a lot to be desired.

Except that alli doesn't or has never played CM???
Most of Dele's early appearances for us were in midfield, Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Son & Dembele were sharing the forward positions behind Kane at that time. The midfield duo of Alli & Dier started together 10 times at the start of 2015/16 season (including the 4-1 wins against City & West Ham and the 1-1 away at Arsenal). It wasn't until after Xmas in the 2015/16 season that Poch decided to push Dele further forward and drop Dembele back.

Hey all - i've tried to stay away during this chaotic period, but the draw is too strong.

Quick question (apologies if its already been asked), but why are we concentraing efforts on defenders. I get that Foyth, Sanchez and Aurier are all good players (or have the potential to be), but don't we need attackers??

because Wimmer is off by the looks of it, CCV went out on loan to get match experience, and it lets Dier play DM without us having to sacrifice playing 3@tb

Fair play! Totally get that! But it seems as though all our efforts are just on these players - of course i'm not itk and i have no idea whats really happening behind the scenes, but we don't seem to be making any headway with more attack minded players.

based on the ITK from the past 12 hours it seems like our other targets are still looking good

If I recall correctly, there was ITK way back in the window stating that we had key targets, but there maybe additional signings if deemed too good not to look into.

As stated before, some may have concluded that the " too good to turn down" would be finished articles.

Could it not be argued that the likes of Foyth and Sanchez represent too good potential wise to miss out on. Aurier I feel speaks for itself.

Excellent forward planning in my opinion.

Palace at home in his first season we had an injury crisis and he played there. Cant remember his partner but he did a good job!
Yes, he did play there a few times and everytime, I do mean everytime, he showed that he is not capable of playing that position. I cannot remember a game where he started and finished in the CM position. He also started the City game there and the Arsenal away game there. All games he has been moved because he is atrocious there as he has no defensive instincts which is weird for someone that considers themselves a midfielder.

Good points! - I agree they do look like excellent purchases.
I guess I've caught the 'greedy' bug again - want more, always want more!! :)

Hopefully announcements are imminent now that Widmerpool has gone.

I get the feeling this being announced is being held back so we have something to announce on deadline day. Hopefully this wont be the only announcement but we've been here before haven't we.
