To those saying he'll never make it as a top player as he had been loaned out too many times to get experience I have 2 words.

Harry Kane

The guy is obviously extremely talented and those that know Colombian football have compared him to James, I certainly wouldn't be against seeing what Pochettino could do with him.

Only seen him play in this world cup and he's been decent. No clue what he's like for his club but it feels like he would be a much bigger risk than Grealish.

I'd personally prefer us to sign Jack as a young AM than Quintero.

If you are going to make a statement like

At least do it having watched him personally play for his club. VDV struggled for game time at Madrid, James Rodriguez was loaned out for two years by Madrid. Loads of players don't make it at certain clubs for any number of reasons. Kane was loaned to Norwich and didn't get any game time, same at Leicester.

I'm not saying we should sign him but if you haven't seen a player play for a club how can you make that kind of statement?

This.

Based on recent club appearances and being picked for his National team, there is a great player called Paulinho who'd fit the bill nicely... Sometimes it fits, sometimes not. There is an awful lot that goes into be successful. The right coach (changes sometimes), the other players in the team (changeable), the other players in your position, personal lives (family/depression/kidnappings/illness), style of play in that league etc. Sometimes it is purely attitude (Edwards).

We appear to have developed a high quality team with a winning mentality. I trust that the coaching staff may have had something to do with this. They will be aware of what he is like and it is not like they won't have contacts to get the lowdown on mentality.

And dissing him because he was loaned to the Colombian league, maybe he wanted that because he wanted to be closer to home while getting his career back on feet? Could be that, or it could be because he isn't better than that. Who knows.

Yeah but Harry Kane was loaned out because he was young (18-20) and needed experience, Quintero was loaned out because he couldn't cut it at the club he was at and is 25 now.

If only scientists could discover a way to lose excess weight. Until then we'll have to make do with the easy option of instilling footballing skill into talentless schlubs in peak physical condition :(.

"Extremely talented" is a bit strong.

It's all relative but to be fair the guy is playing for Colombia at the World Cup finals. I don't think "extremely talented" is pushing it that far compared to the millions of us, including myself, who play 7 aside at the local pitch ;)

I like him if his a good price could be a great move for both parties. Could backfire spectacularly but I’ve a good feeling he could be good for us.
