Juventus will not break the bank for Lamela

I agree with the sentiment but you are massively doing down Chadli and Eriksen's contribution there. Eriksen actually had really good tackle stats at one point last season (not sure where they finished).

I'm not - I'm pointing out that they haven't contributed towards the pressing that Lamela has - which goes a long way towards explaining why he doesn't score so many - he's the one trying to get the ball back and set the others up.

Eriksen especially worked hard on that... One example I can think of was his press on Flamini that lead to the assist for Chadlis goal...

He did well for that. But if your saying he works as hard as Lamela then sorry I didn't see it.

No im not... I like Lamela and would like him to stay.

I was responding to this statement

Difference between Lamela and the likes of Eriksen and Chadli is that Erik hasn't been too afraid to get stuck in and develop the physical side of his game, rather than relying on free-kicks and hovering in the box to make it look like he's worth his place.

Eriksen was mentioned mid season for how much his pressing game had improved. To say that he was afraid to get stuck in and develop his physical side is nonsense.

Lamela has been underwhelming so far for a 30m player signed to add goals and creativity. To his credit he has contributed in other areas by working hard which shows great character.

Next season both him, Chadli and Eriksen can all improve in different ways but the latter heavilly contributed this season and hopefully Lamela will next season.

Yes he was, but he spent the last third of the season shying away. I can't think of barely one decent performance from him past maybe February.

Just doesn't have the pace to be thoroughly effective on the wing in this league IMO. He's got to be given a fair crack at 10 otherwise I just can't see him enjoying his spell with us.

We've a certain Brazilian whos an International whos fkin dog shit so that point is neither here nor there is it lol.
To say he's been anything other than a waste of money is bollocks.
Can anyone, hand on heart, say they think he'll EVER be worth what we paid for him?
And ffs I KNOW he personally had nothing to do with the fee for christs sake, I'm saying what is the most you think he'll ever be worth?
Best case scenario I see about 18m and I very much doubt he'll manage to pull that.
I do wonder if some people, not referring to your good self Doom, actually watch Spurs play or just see goal highlights. Bringing up that Rabona against a fkin pub team as a reason to not sell???
On that basis lets sign Charlie Adams, very good goal from his own half, and keep Pauline as he plays (played) for Brazil.
No? Thought not.
I do think he'll stay.
I also think he'll be better than he has been (wow).
Whether that will be good enough for him to even keep himself in the starting 11 remains to be seen. Depends who we get in/out.
I'd go and see a few games mate. Lamela's has been our second or third best player in half his games. I see a battler in him something Paulinho doesn't have and the guy is young and improving - I'd pick on almost the entire team before going for him.

Lol. I was going to say do you go to any games.
We'll have to disagree.
I'm not saying he doesn't battle, isn't young or he hasn't improved.
I'm saying he's not worth anywhere near what we paid for him and imo never will be.
What's the excuse at end of this season if he still hasn't delivered?

Complete madness.
Lamela has been woeful, like a championship player with the ball. If you like a player that presses and defends from the front, you shouldn't have to pay 30 million for him
