I think kaboul can defened, but he is just to young to deal with all the pressure hes having, I think we should play him id th DM position until he gains more experiance.

Having Setanta has enabled me to see a fair bit of Ligue 1 this season, and the gap in quality between Le Championnat and the EPL really is apparent. Not to say there aren't some quality players, but overall the standard is somewhere between the bottom half/third of the EPL and the top half/two-thirds of the Championship. Even Lyon would struggle to make a regular top six place, I think, whilst Spurs would be regular title contenders in France. You have to see the signings of Kaboul, BAE and Zokora in this context; what is considered top quality in France may not cut the mustard here. The best French/Francophone players undoubtedly do, we only have to look at Henry, Vieira, Cantona, Petit, etc., as evidence of that, but Kaboul has found himself in a completely different ball-game and needs time to adapt.

We've got a bad habit at Spurs of writing off players at the drop of a hat; let's not add Kaboul to that list. I'm sure Ramos has seen enough of him to realise there's a lot of potential to be moulded.

And I do recommend the tenner a month for Setanta. I've already recorded more footy than I actually have time to watch.

i thought dawson grew in stature and showed abit of his 'old' self when Kaboul went off. He just looked more comfortable again.
not that blackpool should have made it a torrid night for them anyway

Very true SS57, the french ligue1 is sub standard in comparison to the PL, the proof is that Lyon have won the title for the last 6 years on the trot.

There are some excellent players in france either french origin or from the old colonies of north/mid africa, theses players use the french ligue as a stepping stone to go else where ask SpursKing about this method.

As you have mentioned the players above (Henry, Viera, Petit, Desailly, and don't forget Makalele) all these players were in the french WC squad of 98 and made their names on the reputation of WC winners, todays players have something to prove again as the ligue1 has gone back to its old ways of being a sub standard ligue in the eyes of the footballing world.

Kabby will learn and will prove that he is definately one for the future, just imagine having a Desailly in your squad from the start of his career, something "la crème de la crème" would love to have.

For someone that played something like all but 2 games the whole season, I thought he carried our defence with Chimbonda the majority of last season.

This season has obviously been a completly different story though.

Kaboul is a great signing, and even though he has had a difficult time with some errors, he will come back to his best. He is a fantastic talent, and one of the best young defenders in his agegroup. I am looking forward to see his progression.
