To be fair, I don't think the PFA joke is that bad. It's pretty light-hearted and in the context of him being a prolific goalscorer.

For the FA's own account to mock him in favour of a rival though is over the mark.

Kane is a down to earth, honest guy. His 'swear on my daughter's life' comment was exactly the sort of thing a person would say if they were talking honestly and freely. The people who are bullying him for that comment are the kinds of talentless jobsworths who - in all walks of life - are trying to turn everyone into robots. Don't let them get to you, Kane.

I found Matterface and Goughie on Talksport particularly irritating the other week when they were constantly joking about it long after it had already been done to death. Went over the line imo

Just when it was dying down, here comes Kane being overly dramatic about the shit he bought on himself and giving people more reason to shit on him if this is true. Jesus christ, harry. What cringey bullshit. On both fucking sides.

Opposition: The jokes are old and played out, now. They werent even funny to begin with.
Spurs: That was the epitomy of small time and pathetic.
Harry: That was embarrasing. And you now you feel like you’re being bullied? You’re a professional footballer making a ton money. Get over it.

Is this what passes for scandal these days? Where’s the drinking, drug-taking and general whoring? God forbid footballers actually get on with playing and loving football.

Well its like this because of the fact that it gets under everyones skin, seeminly including Kane’s. If Spurs fans knew how take a joke and Kane would haved laughed at himself and shown some humility, this would’ve died down immediately and been just a minor distraction.

there's nothing to suggest Kane himself is upset. He hasn't said anything about it. The reference to his family in the story is weak at best: understood to be.

Anything where social media is involved becomes like this, but the FA Cup account should have known better and it's not the PFA Chairman's place to joke about one of the players. The Stoke goal is not the first goal claimed by a player, there have and will be countless others. This is way overblown and needs to die out quickly.. but while they keep writing about it, it won't. The ceremony was Sunday, when Liverpool players even joked about it online, and now this on Thursday, nearly three weeks after the Stoke game, and it's still going.

Theres nothing to suggest it? You mean beaides the stories of him being hurt by the reaction of Lineker and Shearer, and then this story?

That's right. Story. Written by others.

Anything quoting Kane himself? or is it all just 'reported'.

Except we’re on week 3 of this bullshit. It’s tiresome, already. If Kane would have just said about a joke “haha, this was funny”, even if he didnt mean it, this would have ended a while ago.

The only thing Kane needs to do is score goals. If he hit the winner against United do you really think anyone would be bothered about what kind of sense of humour he may or may not have?

He can't win. If he comes out and says anything, it validates the twats who are continuously peddling this kind of shit for clicks. If he doesn't say anything, he's mullered for not saying anything.

Really?

This doesn’t bode well for the abuse he’ll pretty much doubtless get over the WC from the esteemed rags & moronic England ‘fans’

I’m v worried about that

Bullying? Oh FFS. It seems you can't even tell jokes these days. The whole act of trying to claim the goal for the golden boot did make us look a bit petty and I am not surprised at all by the banter. I also doubt that Harry is that senstibve he can't see the funny side of all the "Harry Kane claims X" jibes.

Kane deserves some of the jokes for claiming that goal.

However he doesn't deserve the jokes from the FA, belittling his performance against ManU.
He will be directly working for these ****s in the summer.
Southgate is of course silent on all this.
