Is he even back playing after that bad injury?

I think I would want to see a good six months of injury free action before parting with what would likely be an outrageous fee for an Englishman I have never been entirely convinced by.

I actually think Welbeck would have been the ideal signing for us. Oh well.

I would be very interested to see what Koeman could do with Townsend. I suspect he would look considerably better than he has done under AVB and Pochettino.

Are you really saying that Koeman, (after what, three months? )is a better coach than AVB and Poch?

Yes, and you would struggle to find a Southampton fan who disagrees about Pochettino, or anyone outside of his immediate family who disagrees about AVB (I am assuming Crazyheart was the result of some fumbled liaison in the back streets of Oporto).

Koeman has some class and dignity about him and should not deign to lower himself to joining Spurs .

AVB was a boy after Danny's own heart - loved spreadsheets , Poch looks like he should be playing with Sporoni at Palace .

Spurs have rather made their bed and I am tending towards the opinion that it would be less damaging to lie in it than change it again so quickly .

We just need a caretaker to keep it going till Danny and Joe find a pigeon to take it off us at an inflated price .

Of course, because Southampton are 2nd. Lets see if they feel the same at the end of the season (which, actually, I hope they do really well this year).

Are you asserting, however (just for clarification) that Koeman is a better coach than Poch or AVB and, if so, what is this based on?

Huge experience and a cracking start in English football, playing more flexible, imaginative football than AVB or Poch have ever produced.

Koeman has had his ups and downs in management, but he has shown he is not a flash in the pan.

The challenge for him at Soton will be maintaining performances once injuries kick in, but I agree that I hope they do well, as they are a model of how a club should be run.

I must admit that I haven't seen the teams he has managed play that much, even Southampton, so I'm not that wise to the style that he likes to play, etc. Weren't overly impressed when we played them - but then I've also not been overly impressed with us ;)

He has, clearly, got a vast deal more experience than both AVB and MoPo (probably nearly twice as much, if not more, in regards to managerial experience) and won more.

It will be really interesting to see how he progresses Southampton on - like you said, when they get injuries and, also importantly, as expectations increase.

I do hope they do well (of course, not at our expense when it comes to games! :))

With a squad of players developed over a couple of seasons by...........Poch. How do you think Koeman would have fared if he had come to us I wonder.
