Harry Kane is copying Gareth Bale in an attempt to convince Mauricio Pochettino he is Tottenham’s top striker.

Typical English hype, it won't do you any good Harry.

I remember an almost identical story last season about Townsend emulating Bale. That didn't go as planned, LOL.

I personally thought this was interesting:

"Pochettino and technical director Franco Baldini were deep in conversation after the game before embracing in the tunnel as Pochettino prepared for his post-match interviews".

Suggests that the two have a good relationship and hopefully Levy has basically told the two of them to work together on future transfer targets. Poch picks them, Baldini does the negotiating and Levy stays the hell out of it. Wishful thinking probably.

Press love to build u up to knock u down.
If Harry is half the player Bale is he will be a very fine player for us. Great to see him progressing strongly. Just hope he, like Bale did, keeps working hard to develop and improve yet further.

Love you to be right!

Schneiderlin , plus 1 of Bony or J-Rod would do for me. Sadly can't see Ebeneezer Levy paying up for the supremely talented Schneiderlin

I am not Levy's biggest supporter on here but to call him that is out of order. MS's price kept going up and up in the summer and we drew a line that we didn't go over. It was said by ITK's that we did put in a big bid that was refused. DL has always supported our managers in the transfer market but just because we can doesn't mean we have to. I want the best for Spurs and hope Poch is the way forward. We'll see what happens in January

This is just stupid! I hope he turns out to be great for us, but why put yourself under this pressure. Keep away from the press, keep your head down and work at your game for a few years- then we'll see

I hope he has Bale's work ethic off the pitch. From what Friedel said on MOTD 2 he seems to.

You didn't read the article then?

Basically they're saying Kane wants to emulate Bale because of the way he took the free kick and the way he trains. He could be trying to emulate anyone, in fact he could be trying to emulate nobody and simply wants to become a better player in his own right.

did you read the article? It was actually Chadli bigging up Kane's ability to swerve free kicks by striking the ball a la Ronaldo, Bale or David Luiz. The clubs pr is crap. Harry? Blameless..

sorry gone back and read it. You're right the clubs PR sometimes really is shockingly poor

Thought the main part of the article is about Harry, this paragraph really sums us up as a team:

"Despite some clever touches, Soldado remains imprecise in front of goal, Adebayor is well below his best and Eriksen is not having the same impact as he did last term. Even though he has made some spectacular contributions, it is still hard to work out where Erik Lamela fits into the team. Where Younes Kaboul and Jan Vertonghen should provide certainty at the heart of defence, they look too vulnerable, too often"

As I mentioned in a previous thread, Kane has managed to avoid such comparisons until now; keep your feet on the ground Harry!

If you look what we've spent the last ten years you are probably right. We've just bought so much dross
