Robbie Keane says he would give away his Premier League winners' medal if Liverpool go on to claim this year's title.

Keane rejoined Spurs in a £12million deal before the winter transfer window closed following an indifferent six-month spell at Anfield.

The former Leeds marksman qualifies for a winners' medal having played in 16 league matches for the Merseysiders.

The Reds remain in with a good chance of ending their title-drought, but 28-year-old has no thoughts of what silverware he could receive from the club - only how Spurs get on between now and the summer.

"My brother is a Liverpool fan so I'd probably give it to him," he said when asked what he would do with his winners' medal if The Reds claim the Premier League crown.

"The way I look at it is that a medal means something when you are a part of the squad and involved in winning a trophy.

"When you are in and out of the squad and not involved in games, there are times when you don't feel part of it.

"Next month's Carling Cup final means more to me because I'm a Tottenham player now, even though I can't play.

"Liverpool is gone. It's the past. What happens there now is not my problem."

Thats from Sky.....i was quite sceptical about Robbie returning, and i feel a bit like Pam Ewing at the minute, but seeing the training pics,it just feels right that he's back at Spurs, and he's deffo making the right noises.Loved the quote about the CC final, you can bet your life even though he wont play he'll play a massive part on the day.

Welcome home Robbie.

He'll prevent himself from getting one by banging in a hattrick on the last day to hand Villa the title and snatch us a UEFA cup spot after a sensational run of wins for the Spurs.

True story.

Robbie is a good lad. He must be quite torn apart saying that about a team he supports. I actually feel sorry for him that it didn't work out. I'm happy as larry though he's back at our club. What a player he is. COYS

His brother lives down the road from me. He runs a local football club which Robbie sponsers. If he does get the medal it will more than likely be auctioned or raffled to get more money for the club.

Doesn't sound like he's got much undying love for Liverpool from those words, probably because he prefers Celtic!

Nice of Robbie to jump ship and leave us right in the do do, but what a great man to come back and lead us to glory

I just hope the hoops dont come in for him this summer!

If Robbie Keanes brother is in need of some cash for his club I'm sure Robbie could give him just a week of his wages

Robbie left close season after a god awful run-in to last season, post League Cup triumph. He was part of the lethargy, let's not forget that. What has gone on this season has to mainly be laid at the door of the current squad, even though the departure of last season's contributors may have played a part.

What a load of bollox

Robbo left because Tottenham didnt want him and unquestionably the biggest reason for us being in this current mess was letting 60+ goals leave in the Summer.
