Robbie Keane will undergo scans on Wednesday to determine the extent of the knee injury he suffered after blasting the winner against Middlesbrough.

It was an eventful cameo from the Irish star who tasted the highs and lows of football in just 10 minutes on the pitch.

He came off the bench immediately after Middlesbrough's equaliser, drove home the decisive goal from 25 yards just three minutes later and then hobbled off after appearing to twist his left knee as he chased a ball down the left touchline. He signalled straight away to the bench after the incident.

Martin Jol reported on Tuesday night: "He will have a scan in the morning, as normal, and hopefully he'll be okay because it will be a shock for us if he's badly injured."

With Mido still out, let's hope it's not a serious injury!

It doesn't sound too good. With Mido already injured and 8 more games this month it would be a real problem to be without Keano. We just have to wait and see, and if he is really out for a while Defoe will have to prove himself.
Two strikers is not enough though, and Keane is always great to have available, even as a sub.
If we need another big man that Rasiak is doing well in the Championship. 13 goals so far this season will do for me - bring him to the Lane...

wasnt mido only supposed to be out 2 weeks, im sure i read that 3 weeks ago!
  3. vietnam1973
what about this peckhart kid, is he any good or what, i think a loan signing could do us good, get andy booth back!!
  4. BTN1
Barnard anyone?? Or what about Dixon??
  5. vietnam1973
good call dixons been rated highly by staunton i know that doesnt mean alot but if hes any good, dont matter if hes only 16-17? owen did it rooney did it
  6. oobaties
Berbatov and defoe's chance to cement their partnership up front. they're both capable of playing every match. Injuries permitting.
  7. davidmatzdorf
Both injured, I believe. If we run out of first team strikers, I suspect they will try out Pekhart.
  8. TutanKlinsmann
What? Rasziak? Are you mad? Can't even spell he's name properly. I'd rather have the King as a striker. At least he has a decent header, he scored 2 from set pieces last season.

Dixonss been injured all season, Pekhart is one for the future he is not ready. I think Barnards injured as well.
  10. davidmatzdorf
    1. He was joking, yes?

    2. It is spelled "Rasiak". "Grzegorz Rasiak".
  11. gloryglory
At least Berbatov and Defoe are on form. And Berbatov could easily play up front on his own, while there's little doubt we've got the midfielders for 4-5-1. But if we lost Dimi we'd be in real trouble.

    Keano injury

so fukin typical. Keane's gettin on 4m, I'm thinkin of  to celebr8, then he get's injured. Gr8 gol Berbatov . But dfo's a greedy shit. what happened to barnard. Use him n sell dfoe 4 £12mil in january. We don't need him. R we eva gonna win away? :bang:
  13. bigspurs
Sh*t happens. Lets just hope Jol opts to bring one of the youngsters into the frame. Or maybe this would cause more selection dilemmas when we have Mido and Keane back!
  14. BringBack_leGin
Barnard is injured for a while and Dixon dislocated his shoulder and is out till the new year at least i think. Barcham is a lemming, but we have others. Peckhart would get my vote to come in if we're left with just defoe and dimi, but i've also hear good things concerning Hutton and Hamed!
  15. paxton_soul
Andy "The slug" Booth! I take it your tongue is rammed so firmly in your cheek that you risk choking!!!

Could finally force us into playing a consistent two -blessing in disguise?
  16. Yorkshireyiddo
He didn't seem to be limping to bad up the tunnel. Hopefully he isn't out any longer then the charlton game.
  17. BTN1
heres a thought, what about lennon just off Berby with Malbranque on the right (as he seems to get drawn in anyway) and have Ekotto on the left- he is left footed and can beat his man)

    In Summary

    --------------Robbo--------------
    Chimbonda----Daws-----King----Lee
    Malbranque----Hudd----Jenas----Ekotto
    ------------------Lennon------------
    ------------------Berby--------------
  18. BringBack_leGin
peckhart has been drafted into the reserve squad for their next match and there aren't any notable up front absentees (barnards been out for a while). methinx it may be in preparation for being on the bench v Charlton.
  19. NeverRed06
if he is out then berbatov and defoe can form a gd partnership and then when mido comes bck give berbatov a well deserved rest

weve got about 6 or 7 games in the next three weeks so expect alot of chopping and changing
