Just after watching the Pumas destroy the French I switched over to the Late Late Show on RTE1 (Ireland's national TV station) to see the end of Keano being interviewed. He had flown over to give an interview to rally the Irish around the Irish Soccer team although I didn't catch him giving Staunton his full support. He had been shocked into action by one of the younger irish players saying that he didn't enjoy coming over to Dublin to play anymore. The Irish team including Keane (who didn't take his chances in the past few games) and Staunton in particular have taken a lot of justifiable abuse after almost losing to Cyprus at home. I just thought it showed a lot of balls to come back and face the music and try and rally the fans behind the team if not the manager. Mind you his timing might have been more effective if he waited until after Staunton gets fired this weekend. Hopefully Keane shows this kind of leadership up in Newcastle. I think he will.

Lets hope he comes out and really lays into the boo boys at the Lane!
The sooner the club gets rid of that useless mob of arseholes the better!

Pat Kenny mentioned to Keano that alot of people were saying he was doing nothing but flapping his arms for Ireland. He didn't look too pleased, Hopefully he will take it on board and cut it out
