Why an Earth would any sane person want to watch Scottish football? The standard is horrendous.

I and my kids watched a few minutes of Celtic v Partick Thistle. The technique passing and standard of football was so poor we had to turn it off. There are so many cheap imports and the richer clubs cherry pick the best players from their rivals. It will be a long time until we see the next great Scottish player. If at all.

Kid is going to be a star. Can only assume we don't have a big contingent of scotch watchers here as he's been one of the best players in that league and will play for an elite club if he ever leaves Celtic (which is the biggest question mark given his love for the club and their love for him)

Sorry no not for me, we have to be looking to aim higher than this.
Looking higher than one of the best fullback prospects in the UK, and perhaps Europe? Really? These type of signings are the ones we should be looking at.

I kind of feel like people are only looking down on this because it's the Scottish league. I wonder if a prospect as good as Tierney would be so easily dismissed if was plying his trade in Croatia or Belgium.

Well, I hear that the club is in discussions with the parents of Dave Mackay-Peters :shifty:

I maybe wrong as you all disagreed but i watch a lot of Scottish football and a lot of my mates are Celtic fans and he wouldn't stand out like Rose would. Fair if you disagree but its my opinion. Would much rather RS (i know this ain't the argument) with a higher potential

He's 20. The most prodigious talent in the entire league, Celtic fans rate him higher than any other player that's come through in recent living memory. I know this because I live in Glasgow, am surrounded by Celtic fans and invariably end up seeing a lot of their games whether on tv or a handful that I go to when mates have spare tickets.

So much time still to develop, but he's already pretty darn good. Also wouldn't be against bringing both him and Sessegnon in

Agree he's class but he's Celtic born & bred & has no interest leaving, he said so when ManU were sniffing about after him

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I agree. Can't see the Scottish premiership ever getting back to a decent standard.

What are your thoughts on Tom Rogic, mate?

As an Australian I love hearing reports of how he's going over there. He's scored a few special goals for you lot in the last couple of seasons.

Tom's a bit of an enigma. He's had his injury problems but is back in the side now and is doing well. He's got good competition in Stuart Armstrong. He definitely pops up with a great goal or two here and there, and also chips in with a fair amount of assists. To me he's one of those that isn't a guaranteed starter when facing tough opposition, so would expect to see him more on the bench in the Champions League and coming on later in the game. Would be curious to see how he got on in a more competitive league.
