Very exciting young defender. I watch a lot of Celtic and KT would be a greatvaddition. He's primarily a left back but can play centre back, right back and midfield too. Right up Poch' s street.

Lifelong Celtic fan. Been with them since 7 and signed a six year deal in October. Doubt it will be easy to prise him away.

Playing in a league where he's almost guaranteed to win nearly every domestic trophy for the forseeable future. If I were in his shoes I may be after a fresh challenge...and probably a huge wage increase.

While we have Davies and Rose at the club I cannot see us going for another Left Back, especially at the rumoured price he might go for.

Depends if he's better than them, or likely to be better than them in the near future

I have to say, I was impressed with Rose Vs Belgium the other day; he looked very lively

Hopefully we can get some of that model of Danny Rose for the 2018/19 season (y)

Not even sure it's easy to tell. Celtic destroy every team in the Scots league, then get ransacked in Europe. The Champions League games Tierney played last season were:

Hard to judge players when they're in such a dogshit league. Guess that's why we have scouts.

Cracking wee player, not sure if he'll leave celtic just now. Also a very loyal player who's level headed. Wouldn't mind him at all

I agree but if you look at his attributes, he’s quick, direct, up and down the wing ala Walker, got a very good cross on him and a decent shot. Yes the league is crap but he has the raw attributes to make the step up to a higher level.

We’re in a strange position with our full backs. Our most promising player is KWP, yet we’ve spurged £20m+ on Aurier who’s mental and Trippier can’t defend for toffee but has been outstanding for England at the WC albeit playing as a wing back with the rapid Walker covering him. Right back is a major headache in terms of 3 players are too many and it’s compounded by 1 of them not suited to the EPL and Trippier being suited to a wing back position but reliant on pace behind him. Yet by playing wing backs we’ll have to leave out one or two of our excellent attacking players.

Left back is also a headache in that Davies can defend but runs in treacle and when both him and Tripps play we’re one dimensional. Whereas there’s a trillion question marks over whether Rose will regain his appetite, form and stay injury free. Even if he does, he’s still naff going forward. Considering we were pursuing Sessegnon and are now linked with Tierney again it implies we’re still looking to add another option at left back. Taking into account all of the above, Davies has less risks attached to him than Rose at the moment but for Davies to play we would have to drop Eriksen or Alli into central midfield and play both Moura and Son to give us balance and pace up top.

Ideally for me I would like to see:

KWP
Trippier

Davies
Tierney

Potentially hold on to Rose as well for his experience if no one else comes in for him.

Good point

I guess they'd have to measure personal metrics; distance run, speed of player, positioning of player whilst taking into account poor positioning of team-mates, passes completed, dribbles completed

To be honest, if I were KT I'd sign for a Watford, Newcastle or Crystal Palace given half a chance; a team where I'd get 30+ games a season to test myself at a higher level, but where there wasn't any great pressure to win trophies

If that goes well, then I'd be looking to break into the 'elite' sides when I was 23/24 years old

I think you're being a tad harsh on our full-backs there

They're not world-class, but they're solid enough

Also, if the dynamic in the central midfield changes and we get more of a 'ball-playing' central midfielder in, then we won't rely on the attacking threat of our full-backs quite so much. This may mean that 'solid' would be good-enough in those positions

Just like Harry playing for us Tierney is living the dream.. The jocks are on the up football wise at last with some very good young uns coming through but I doubt he'd leave the confused club of Ireland just yet. I think he's contracted to 2023 as well

I don’t see it as harsh. Walker plus Rose kept the opposition pinned back which allowed Eriksen, Alli and Kane to run amok. Whereas last season we were at times easy to defend against because our full backs weren’t a threat which meant the opposition could play their own game and overrun us at times. I’m not saying our full backs are bad but they’re not suited to the formation and tactics that struck fear into the opposition a couple of seasons ago. Even Hercs has said that we would like to have the ‘options’ and ability to mix it up like City but we can’t do that at the moment until we sort out our flanks from both a defensive and offensive perspective.

He could go to a better club than Everton.

That Liverpool Echo link won't load for me, keeps crashing* but I first saw the story in The Guardian on Friday and they had Man United allegedly in the running for him.

United are allegedly in for everyone.. Typical Mourinho tactic of collecting players to stop them joining rival teams.
