Kieran Trippier will have a medical at Atletico Madrid later on Tuesday ahead of a shock switch from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 28-year-old will move to the Spanish capital for around £25million. He was previously linked with Napoli, Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Napoli, Juventus, Man Utd, Bayern and now Atletico. Trippier must have the best agent in the world!!
In fairness he has been very good for us until last season (major meltdown in form) and the odd mistake before then, so i can see why he is getting so much attention and maybe just the move he needs.

For most teams outside the EPL, Trippier is the player from the World Cup. That would make him in demand. Also his skills include just about everything except pace, so he's likely to be an asset in a slower league - which means any league in the world except the Bundesliga.

His loss of form last season we now know to be related, at least in part, to nagging groin problems. I've read this in more than one location and I noticed myself that he didn't get through a match without grabbing at his upper thigh and groin area on multiple occasions.

Think he’ll be a big loss personally. Ok, down in form last year but there’s a good player in there. Be interesting to see what the plan for RB this season will be if he does go. Maybe Dani Alves and one of the kids. Who knows? In Poch we trust though.

I’ve criticised him a lot but I really hope he kills it in Spain and wins the league with Atletico

Totally agree. Most fans don't bother looking at players groins during games.

In the current market, £20m, as the Guardian is quoting, doesn't seem like a lot at all.

Champions league finalist and World Cup semi finalist worth the same as someone with 17 caps for Bournemouth and no international caps? How quickly they forget

I would be gutted if we sell him. You dont suddenly become a bad player over 1 season.

For the price, with 3 years left on his contract, it’s verging on insane. But I’m guessing we want more in and we’re taking less to get a few out as time is running out

He didn't play in the nations league finals did he? Wasn't he dropped from the entire England squad
