King to start against Man City?

Since King and Rocha played 45 mins in the reserves this week, why not start King with Dawson for the first half. In the second half replace King with Rocha. Granted neither are truly match fit, but both would be better than anyone else.

Comments??

According to This Is Hertfordshire King is pencilled in for the subs bench against City - in the Carling Cup on the 16th.

In other news a couple of websites are reporting Lee and Chimbonda as doubts for Sunday. Which woudl not be surprising, since one was carried off on a stretcher and the other limped off with his arm around the physio.

They must not at any cost start playing Ledley before he is 1,000,000% ready to. If we rushed him back and he got injured, we'd only have ourselves to blame, and might as well just kill ourselves.

So, with Bale's foot allegedly in a skiboot, BA-E out for the season, and Ifil out on loan, I believe that leaves Stalteri as our only fit fullback?

Rocha and Gardner can do a job there, but neither are anywhere near full fitness.

With the kids, I assume we're down to Hughton Jr, Martin and Berchiche?

The wildcard might be Teemu, making a rare appearance for Ramos entirely out of position.

Juande could switch to 3-4-1-2, or 3-5-2, but it wouldn't help much as we don't have any fit wingbacks either....

I'd be more than happy with a makeshift defence of...

________
|Robinson|

Tainio -- Dawson -- Zokora -- Stalteri

Tainio Zoko-Pops Dawson Stalteri

Or where does this new Archibald play? CB?

Can we call Ifil back?

Am I right in thinking Dawson and Stalteri are now our only recognized 1st team defenders? with Kaboul seemingly out of the reckoning for whatever reason?

The likes of Petrov, Ireland and Elano will rip that defence to shreds! Eek

Salty at LB gives us zilch going forwards, and not much more defensively either. Still, at least he should stick close to Zokora, and provide a bit of cover.

The other wildcard is Kaboul - who Ramos didn't entirely rule out in his comments pre-Anderlecht.

I think Kaboul will start alongside Dawson. I reckon Ramos left him out to let him settle down a bit after the 'mare he's had recently.

Kaboul is going to be put up for loan so SSN said earlyer today, 3 french clubs were intrested in him after ramos apparently said he could go on loan

King isnt near first team football yet, 45 minutes in the reserves is no where near good enough for him to come back to top flight football after such a long time out and so many injuries, give him another one or two run outs in the reserves and get 90 mins under his belt before we even think about starting him! Bench... maybe

Yes, that was my guess.

Or where does this new Archibald play? CB?

Or right fullback, but he is injured. As is Mills.

Can we call Ifil back?

I think his loan spell is to the end of the month, but I would be suprised if we did not have a recall option. Charlie Daniels would also be useful, but he is on a season long loan, so I doubt we would be able to recall him.

Glad we've got the extra day to recover now. Sounds as though it's time to get the ressies up and running, it's what they're there for after all.

Is it me or does anyone think Gareth Bale is the image of Stephen Beale from Cheesenders.

Elano is out until the end of the month with a hamstring problem and Hamann is suspended. Also, City have been pretty crap away from home. The CC game could be a different matter, of course.

And Archibald-Henville is also injured.

Didn't Ramos say King was only training with the rest of the squad just 2 days per week? I think people are getting over excited by his reserve team run out. He can easily manage 45 mins for the reserves training just twice per week, but there is no way he can play in the Prem until he is back i training everyday with the rest of the squad. i don't expect to see him in the Prem until Jan.

Elano out?

Thank fuck! Eek

So our injuries, in defense alone...

King
Bale
Gardener
Rocha
Dervitte
Chimbonda?
YP Lee?
Archi-Henville
Mills

Thats the majority of our first team AND reserve defense?

Can you but bets on player injuries?

I might put one on Dawson for this weekend

Or Riley, though he is a rightback.

Hughton seems currently to be first in the pecking order and he can play either side. But I would be astonished if he got any closer than the bench.

The London Lite in it's infinite journalistic wisdom gave us this gem re: Kaboul, yesterday:

Juande Ramos is keen to send Kaboul out on loan ... [6/7 words more] ...: "Why would I want to put Kaboul out on loan?" [a direct quote from the man himself]

Fucking. Brilliant. :slowclap:
