Salty is much better (IMHO) at Rb rather than LB - Lee will recover i think in time -

what about Charlie Daniels being called back if possible?

Also rocha on the bench?

Kaboul will have to play if chimbo, Lee and Bale are out, and show us what he is made of.

Zokora, Daws, Kaboul, Stalteri

Zoko can also play at RB, so why not shift him there? he might even do better there since his possitioning is less critical. At least we will have a bit of experience either side of the young centre backs.

Either that or rush Rocha back, probably not worth risking king. But having said that I read in the last reserve report that it was the last reserve game till the new year - so if king doesn't play in the first team then how will he get match fit? maybe a role on the bench isn't out of the realms of possibility.

Or Riley, though he is a rightback.

Hughton seems currently to be first in the pecking order and he can play either side. But I would be astonished if he got any closer than the bench.

Eddie Bailey - What do you think of them?

And isn't Joe Martin the son of old Alvin? I saw Joe play on telly for England schoolboys a couple of seasons ago, and I'm sure he was a big midfield player, with a cultured left-foot back then....

Christ! If Chimbo and Lee is out we are in big trouble. Think Salty can replace Chimbo, but Lee? However, I guess Kaboul will be selected. Really hope Zokora isnt playing in defence.
Robbo

Stalteri - Daws - Kaboul - Lee

Lennon - Zokora/Hudd - Jenas - Malbranque

Berbatov - Defoe/Keane (when does his suspension start?)

Subs: Rocha/King/Defender wonder kid, Hudd/Zokora, Taraabt/Prince, Cerny, Bent (defoe if Keane can play)

Not to bad, is it? Hope we'll stick to 4-4-2, with no Zokora at the back...

Gus Poyet reports that Pascal Chimbonda and Young-Pyo Lee should be fit to face Manchester City at the Lane on Sunday. The defensive duo were injury concerns after Thursday night's UEFA Cup draw against Anderlecht.
Young-Pyo was stretchered off 10 minutes from time after a clash of heads while Pascal was helped off the pitch by medical staff after picking up a late knee injury.
"Pascal had a knock to the knee, nothing too serious and we expect them both to be okay for Sunday," said first team coach Gus on Friday afternoon.
Robbie Keane will have to sit it out as he serves the first of his three-match suspension following his dismissal against Birmingham.
Gareth Bale (foot), Anthony Gardner (ankle) and Benoit Asou-Ekotto (knee) remain out.

I am unable to get to reserve games any more, so I have not seen enough of Hughton to form an opinion. Very much in the mould of his dad I understand.

Yes, Joe is Alvin's son. Your recollection of him is the same as mine when I saw him play a few times for the rezzies as a first year academy player, a couple of seasons ago. Back then Liverpool were suppoesed to be trying to poach him off of us.

He has missed a lot of time with injury and since coming back seems mainly to fill in at leftback or centreback. According to BOF he had a mare during the week. Hmmm get a cultured central midfield player and convert him into a leftback. That worked so well with Johnnie Jackson let's try it again...

Never seen without a clipboard?

:rofl::rofl:

Good crack. But, in fairness, Chris Hughton has been a great servant to the club, and was a very good player. I seem to remember that, although he came through our academy, he was a late developer.

With his father's genes, and some good coaching, young Cian ought to at least have a chance of being a damn good fullback.

Didn't Ramos say King was only training with the rest of the squad just 2 days per week? I think people are getting over excited by his reserve team run out. He can easily manage 45 mins for the reserves training just twice per week, but there is no way he can play in the Prem until he is back i training everyday with the rest of the squad. i don't expect to see him in the Prem until Jan.

itk's said that. then it got picked up by the papers.

No mention of King being "out" on the official site...

Or Rocha - i guess both are no longer officially injured anymore - so why not have them in the squad

I'd think Rocha the more likely to feature either this or next Sunday - but it's good our injury list is down to 3 - hope springs anew :)

that would be because he isnt out any more, since he played 45 mins for the reserves, so he could play a part, it is just very unlikley that King will be risked, and probably the same for Rocha. With the injuries we have, one might be on the bench at a push IMO

I cannot see any 'risks' before the CCQF at Citeh.
That's one Juande wants to win.
Would leave us 3 games from a trophy and guaranteed euro football next season,
thus watch him make this his priority for such gambles

If JR is prioritising the Carling game - surely he needs Leds to play at least a half before then

1/4
Semi 1
Semi 2
Final

4 games, and its more than likely we'll have to face a top 4 team in the semi and final should we get there!

it would be a right touch if rocha is back - depends whether the staff reckon he's riskable.

chimbo....dawson.....rocha.....lee would certainly ease my worries everytime the opposition gets into our half (just slightly mind).

Do we actually have 4 fully fit defenders, first team or reserves?! We could be delving in to the under-15's squad at this rate. That's what Arsene likes to do...

rocha's injury wasnt as bad as kings though was it so rocha will probably be on the bench or might even get a start
