Kit boredom. Why do we all have to look the same?

I'm so bored to death with seeing not only our awful kit design, but with the fact that its a template for almost all other Nike sponsored teams. Came across an interesting blog on this:

Spot on. I've waited years for Nike to be our kit maker, but I feel cheated that now we have them they're just like all the rest.

To be fair though like it or not our home at least has a unique design, as well as the 3rd kit. In truth that's more individuality than I thought we'd get from them.

What I don't get is why after spending millions upon countless millions on kit deals Nike can't spend a tiny bit more on distinctive designs for each big team.

It makes me think it's not out of laziness but is a conscious business decision.

They want to make them as generic as possible for the most sales. The same with pretty much anything on the high street.

I don’t really mind the generic template as tbh it was somewhat to be expected given their shift to doing so in American sports shortly before our contract with them, and furthermore I rather like their athletic cuts as opposed to the archaic 90’s shit Adidas is sill doing. However, that our away kit is literally the exact same as Barca’s training kit is just laughable. These are two major clubs, how on earth did they think a) that it wouldn’t be noticed, and/or b) that people wouldn’t react negatively en masse to it?

I just think this years gone kit is fugly and the away is a double-the-price Barca training kit.

Some hope the 3rd looks alright.

Because they don't need too. They're Nike. They could spit in people's faces and those people will still buy their stuff for the magic tick.

Having a quick look on google image chelsea’s Kit has an individual look as does ours (which admittedly I’m not a huge fan of ours yet).

Portsmouth also have a Nike shirt and that looks different so they seem to be doing them a little more individualistic than last season and the World Cup shirts?

Although personally I was a massive fan of our clean simple kits last season (especially the home) and wasn’t too fussed if looked same a story man city’s or Chelsea’s aside from the colour - in fact made me feel we were more part of elite and some top teams have Nike’s making their gear.

The home shirt is inferior this season for me.

They almost have though, quite a few of these may have the same base template, but the designs are unique.

And similar to the uniqueness of the third kit graphics that will feature on each of the teams kits:

I think the away likeness to the Barca training kit is pretty shocking, but I don't think Nike have been too bad with some of the club teams this season in terms of being different.
